PROFILE
David is a Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years experience who has worked on a wide variety of construction projects (commercial, residential and industrial), including hotels, hospitals, schools, shopping centres, sports stadiums, factories and railway projects.
David started his career overseas in Sydney, Australia where he worked on a large residential building in Sydney city centre but returned to Ireland where he has gained valuable experience on a large number of projects. One of the largest projects he worked on was the renewal of all the overhead HV cabling in Ireland (€500m)
He excels at managing the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects and is comfortable leading a team of Quantity Surveyors on large projects.

I work on the new Manila Bay Resort Casino and 1000 bedroom hotel. It is the largest casino in SE Asia. Contract value is 3 billion dollars. I am project director and lead for the financial drawdown and reporting department. We are an independent consultant who are engaged by Deutsche Bank to oversee the due diligence, governance and financial injections for the developer.
Systech International (Consultancy), Doha, Qatar – Mar 2014 – Mar 2015
Seconded to Samsung C&T for new Metro Rail transport system in Doha. Value 6 billion Qatari Riyal
Worked as Assistant Contracts Manager for the Major Stations part of project.
Duties included dealing with all contractual issues including notifications and claims from start to
finish. Claims included for Architectural Branding, Increased CCTV Specification, disagreements on
responsibilitity for construction of access roads. These claims ranged in value from 100 million Riyal to
300 million Riyal. The majority of claims were ongoing. Also dealt with all main contractor and
subcontractor contractual issues. I dealt with approximately 30 Subcontractors.
I reported to the Contracts Manager who in turn reported to the Commercial / Contract Manager
who in turn reported to the Project Director. My subordinates were 2 Quantity Surveyors and 1 No.
Junior Quantity Surveyor along with 3 No. administrative assistants.
