BNY Mellon – EIS SuRPAS Report Modernization is a shareholder accounting system used for wrap, sub-accounting and transfer agency. The application runs on VMS platform and the core of the application is in FORTRAN. Application uses file structures as data storage. SuRPAS as an application caters to multiple clients. There are separate instances of the applications for each client; each instance consists of its own SuRPAS interface, core (processing rules) and data files storage. SuRPAS data files are the source for the reporting. Reports are directly pulled out of these files UDMS; some are pulled out of UDS, which is updated with extracts from of these files. All the clients databases uses standard System File layout of SuRPAS to store data.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Credit Suisse Group is a leading global financial services provider with operations spanning every continent and in all of the world's major financial centers. A financial service is implementing a provisions and controls. As a part of the implementation work, involved in design and development of universe and also developed reports for the Provisions module. The reports have been developed using BO 6.5. We developed tabular reports, threshold reports and more over cross tab reports.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and development of BI reports using Business Objects reporting functionalities such as Master Detailed, Slice and Dice, Drilling methodology, Filters, Ranking, Sections, Graphs and Breaks. Design and Development of Business Object Universe. Perform Unit testing, System Testing and User Acceptance Testing for Universe, Reports and Security Management. Delivering and releasing the project deliverables to the customer

Used multiple data providers such as universes and personal data files in generating reports.

Retrieving and Publishing Documents from and to Corporate Repository.

Scheduling the Documents and distributing the Documents through Broadcast Agent Server.

Created various data marts from data warehouse and generated reports using Business Objects.

Use of Designer Module to implement Universes, linkages between tables, creating prompts and queries, parsing the Universes, applying contexts and alias tables to remove cyclic dependencies.

Creation of reports like, Reports by Product, Reports by Customer, Reports by Period, Demographic reports and Comparative reports.

Architected the Web Deployment strategy for Business Objects Web Reports using Web Intelligence, ZABO, automated document Scheduling and Publishing using Broadcast Agent.

Creation of different types of reports, such as; Master/Detail, Cross Tab and Chart (for trend analysis). Use of filters, conditions, calculations, etc.

Presentation of the advanced features of Business Objects to users and developers to enable them to develop queries and reports easily.
