Manage both the tactical and long-term strategic Supply Chain activities within Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Purchasing and Inventory management, in order to achieve the yearly corporate goals.

Redefined, designed and implemented a newly enhanced Demand Planning and Forecasting process.

Managed the configuration and implementation of the statistical Demand Planning system ForecastPro. Trained planners in the use of this new system and in the multiple complexities of Demand planning. Instituted monthly collaboration meetings with key Customer Accounts, to review their monthly plans. These initiatives enabled overall forecast accuracy to improve by 22%, and allowed the company to improve Customer Service Fill-rate levels from an average of 87% to 98%.

Re-engineered the Production Planning process, to now include an Advanced Planning system, instead of the previous excel spreadsheets. Configured and implemented the new Planning system, which now determines the correct amount of finished goods to produce and the correct amount of raw materials to purchase. Trained the Supply Planners in the logic of Advanced Planning / MRP and how to use the new system. This resulted in a 32% increase in Production attainment.

Responsible for the forecasting and planning of all product categories, throughout all the geographical regions. Lead all Operations employees through all Demand Planning functions and activities.

Implemented the Demand Planning system ForecastPro. Trained planners to use the software, and implemented monthly collaboration meetings with the major Customer Accounts.

Institute monthly collaboration meetings with Customer Accounts, to review the monthly plans.

Project manager of the Procure-to-Pay purchasing process. Documented, analyzed, re-engineered and implemented all steps of the process, from initial purchase requisition to delivery and invoice payment.

Designed, along with the IT Department, the corporate CFS (Collaborative Forecasting System). This system allows the regional Sales Managers to remotely sign-in via Internet, and enter their sales forecasts. It consolidates, analyses and aggregates the regional forecasts into a top-level Sales Plan.

Plan and track monthly, quarterly and annual Sales numbers, for assigned product categories.

Developed forecasts using market analysis and the Demand Planning module JDA Manugistics.

Validated and firmed Purchase Orders for components, based on suggested POs from JDA Manugistics. Followed-up with Purchasing planners on various supply, logistics and Quality issues.

Used syndicated data, i.e. Nielsen, IRI, NPD and Wal-Mart’s Retail-Link info, to track performance.

Calculated forecasting accuracy using the MAD and MAPE statistics, and reported results to management. Used accuracy measurements to drive improvements to statistical models and the overall forecasting. These tools and best practices resulted in a 21% improvement in the forecast accuracy.

Prepared production schedules based on plans, current available inventory, desired finished goods inventory levels and production capacity constraints. Coordinated with factories and DC’s.

Project Manager and Designer of the corporate Alerts system. This system was designed to send an Alert message to the Demand Planner, if a forecast was up-dated by more than a certain threshold, for instance 30%. This allowed the Demand Planner to immediately start investigating the reasons for this huge change, in coordination with the Sales manager who made the change. Both parties agreed that this new feature helped them with better communications and collaboration with each other.

Industrial Engineer - 2/98 to 1/02

Improved the productivity of the Cosmetics and over-the-counter Pharmaceuticals company.

Prepared Bills-of-Materials (BOM’s) and Routing plans in the MRP system. Calculated labor standards, labor budget & production costs for all products scheduled for production in multiple plants.

Project Manager of the corporate Bar-coding project, to insure that all Finished products adhered to the new packaging requirements. Sourced Bar-coding suppliers for necessary hardware and software equipment. Collaborated with Marketing and Logistics on the format requirements for the label. Used specialized software to design the label, which included the 12-digit UPC-A (GTIN-12) bar-code format. Successfully installed the bar-coding equipment on the various production lines.

This project allowed the company to be in compliance with the newly required packaging and information systems standards, and saved the company a projected $80,000 in potential fines.

Redesigned and optimized the Packaging line at the Distribution Center for greater efficiency.
