To whom it may concern,

From November 1988 to January 2009 I was Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of SEMX Corporation, an international manufacturer of specialty electronic materials business that was initially listed on the American Stock Exchange and subsequently moved to the NASDAQ. Towards the end of that 22-year span, SEMX bought Electro-Comp Services, Inc. (Electro-Comp”) and promoted Mr. Michael Render to the position of President of that subsidiary.

In January 2009, SEMX Corporation was sold and I personally acquired Electro-Comp with Michael continuing to manage the business on a day-to-day basis. About the middle of 2011 the number of counterfeit parts which flooded the U.S. electronics market from Asia increased significantly and with the worsening economic environment, Michael and I decided to shut the business, which we did in the latter half of 2012.

During the period that Michael worked for me, he was a dedicated and enthusiastic leader of the management team – formulating the strategic direction and growth of the business, leading the sales activities and eventually developing a method to successfully unwind the business without a loss of jobs of the employees and minimal loss of my equity.

I know that Michael decided to move to Tennessee to be closer to family and I can personally attest to his honesty, work ethic, and business acumen and would recommend him for almost any position for which he might apply.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you with further information regarding Michael.

Former Chairman, President & CEO

SEMX Corporation and

Former owner of Electro-Comp

Dear Sir or Madame:

It is my great privilege and honor to recommend Michael Render as an employee worthy of employment for any organization. I was the previous City Manager of Calhoun, Tennessee, where Michael worked under me as City Recorder. Mine and Michael’s steadfast moral code led us to seek employment elsewhere do to the toxic situation we both encountered during my tenure at the municipality of Calhoun. During that time, Michael met and exceeded all expectations. Sometimes, he had to please me and the City Commission due to the ignorance of the Commissioners as to what is their role in local government.

Michael routinely discussed city business with me, thus he prolonged and added to his workload immensely. Plus, he went above and beyond the call of duty in his day-in and day-out activities. He was my best employee, and if it were not for his good conscious and steadfast work ethic he would probably still be at Calhoun. I have no doubt in his ability to succeed placed into any environment. If I needed someone with his skills and talents at Thomas and Betts, where I am a supervisor, I would hire Michael immediately. Please feel free to contact me concerning this letter of recommendation.
