Senior Project Manager

Wenham Pines Wenham, MA

Civil engineering design and environmental permitting for this 32 acre, 9 hole golf course,

called “Lakeview”. This work included the layout and design of 24 luxury condominiums and 2400 linear feet of roadway. The FEMA floodplain traversed this site, along with the Alewife concrete bridge was also designed to cross over an existing stream. Storm water Management was controlled with 2 large detention basins and a Vortsentry unit.

Market Basket, Lynn, MA

Project Manager for totally new 83,000 sf supermarket. The existing site was a 9 acre parking Lot previously owned by General Electric. The final design had 461 parking spaces and certain portions of the site received up to 6 feet of fill, in order to not disturb the existing soils. The storm water management was controlled by several long and narrow retention basins surrounding the entire site.

• Big Y Supermarket, Northampton, MA

Managed and provided civil engineering services plus permitting for a totally new 69,000 SF supermarket to replace an existing 65,000 SF supermarket which was in poor condition. . The new building was placed in a new location and the grades were raised throughout the lot which improved vehicular circulation substantially

• Lakeside Plaza, Marlborough, MA

Created engineering drawings through to construction inspection for this very difficult site, of which 20% of the parcel was impacted by wetlands. The final design showcased 2 standalone retail buildings and also provided for easy access onto Route 20.

July 1999- Feb 2004 H.W. Moore Associates Inc., Boston, MA

Senior Project Manager

• Civil engineering design and environmental permitting for "Hawthorne Commons" a residential development in Salem, MA. This work included the layout and design of 120 rental units along with the design of water, sewer and drainage systems to service this development, which abuts extensive wetlands.

• "Overlook Ridge", Malden and Revere, MA. This 100-acre project involved design and permitting

2400 units of residential development together with a retail component and a hotel. Complexities of this development included designing half a mile of sewer force main, subdivision roads in two towns, design of utilities, interface with our new Route One interchange and storm water management treatment systems all within an active stone quarry which also had some hazardous materials on site.

July 1996-July 1999 Hancock Associates, Inc. Danvers, MA/Bolton, MA

Senior Project Manager/Engineering Department Head

• Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, North Adams, MA

Provided grading and drainage improvements for the associated parking lots and courtyard areas throughout this thirteen-acre, mill complex. The complex, which consists of 27 buildings transformed into a 500,000 square foot contemporary museum. Worked directly for the architectural firm Bruner/Cot! of Cambridge.

• Hyde Park Library Expansion, Hyde Park, MA

Provided permit and construction drawings for a 20,000 square foot expansion to the existing library. The new four-story attached building was designed by Schwartz/Silver Architects of Boston. Discontinuance plans were created in order to abandon a portion of Winthrop Street and allow for the building expansion and required parking. A great deal of interaction transferred between our office, the Boston Public Facilities Departrnent and the Boston Water and Sewer Commission before all the lengthy details were ironed out and constructed

August 1992- February 1996 Sumner Schein Architects and Engineers, Inc., Cambridge, MA

Civil Project Manager

• WalMart Stores, Tewksbury, MA

Project Manager who obtained all permits from state and local agencies for this 120,000 square foot store, which included a Garden Center, 776 parking spaces and two out parcels to be developed at a later date.

• Lechmere, South Portland, ME

Added this fifth anchor store of 56,000 square feet to the existing Maine Mall complex

• Managed the design process for residential, commercial, and recreational developments.

Responsibilities included the preparation of proposals, development of work schedules and budget estimates, conducting of design reviews, monthly invoicing, and supervision of personnel.

Designed subdivisions, roads, parking areas, plus drainage and utility layouts. Prepared grading plans, and developed cost estimates. Responsible for conceptual design through to construction inspections.
