Test Architect (2005-2012)

Embedded in scrum team for reporting. Created test plans and led off-shore testing.

Created test documents for offshore testing team for enhancement to PRPC, a BPM development system. My testing documents were praised because they were very useful in preparing end-user documentation on new or changed features.

Developed internal applications and wrote documents on them for the Testing Organization, including an effective home-grown management information system using MS Access, MS Excel and VBA under control of a driver written in VB. The system accessed an internal bug management system implemented on an Oracle database. This reporting system automatically produced daily trend reports and charts, saving them to a corporate web page. The reporting system was instrumental in securing several large ($1M+) deals for Pegasystems’ software.

Wrote documentation on testing procedures and methodology.

Led the development of a software application in PRPC to manage testing of software features by an off-shore team.

Manager Technical Support (2001-2004)

Ran a special task force of managers with responsibility focusing on improvements in management information reporting.

Managed Level 3 Product Support for all Pegasystems’ legacy software products. Worked with field support organization in developing priorities for addressing technical issues. The support team consisted of up to 9 engineers.

oSpecified how to re-implement one facility called “Project Tracking” which was bug ridden and simply could not be fixed without re-implementation. Created a mathematical model to be used for verifying the implementation.

oTook the initiative in gathering a team to change a system so that a large banking customer would meet legal requirements and retain 7 years of data, in spite of my management sitting on the change. Also wrote all user documentation for the change and conversion utility. The director of global customer support praised the document.

oDeveloped and presented all training for a contractor to take over maintenance of the legacy software products. The contracting company’s staff said that this was the smoothest transition that they had experienced.

Principal Software Engineer (1995-2000)

Managed 3 others in the support and creation of new versions of all client side software products associated with PegaWORKS product line.

Developed, evolved and maintained PegaREACH Workbench and associated utilities in Visual Basic and some C++. This was the development environment for PegaWORKS.
