Pursue an active and efficient acquisitions policy for the Cancer Research portfolio – including series and individual monographs – through correspondence, meetings/trips, telephone calls, consultations with advisors, etc.

Transmit completed manuscripts to production: Complete a book data sheet with necessary specifications for the project. Gather and compile permissions. Provide instructions on schedule requirements and editorial issues for the copy editor and production editor.

Ensure the accurate completion of project workflow tasks and procedures, such as entering data into PIM, AMACOM Books’ contracts database, processing contracts and check requests, participating in titling meetings.

Relationship Management

Serve as point person for any book project acquired or assigned throughout the book’s life, approximately 5 books annually.

Guide and support authors as they wrote their manuscripts, including managing authors and projects for timely delivery of acceptable manuscripts.

Correspond with authors and agents, including acknowledging and declining proposals and queries in a timely fashion, circulating press clippings.
