As you can see in my attached resume, I have a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan. I was employed at UMHS from 2007-2017. In my previous position I acquired the knowledge and skills to effectively design training programs with evolving EPIC software applications, and to communicate the appropriate workflow for Ambulatory Care. I worked collaboratively with several different Electronic Medical Record application teams to develop the optimal workflow for end users.
I enjoyed very much working at the University of Michigan. While I work well independently, I was also an active member of my team. I worked with Ambulatory Care and Information Technology committees to achieve successful implementation of changes for our end users. I continuously seek to add to my knowledge when making business decisions.
I currently work at Proof Management as a promotions representative. I am responsible for the business inventory shipping and receiving and accountability for our inventory. I also manage roadshows in remote locations and ensure their success for the company.
In summary, I believe that I have the education and experience needed to be successful in this position. Thank you for considering my application, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Nick Severson

2011-2017 Training Specialist Intermediate
Ambulatory Care Educational Services
University of Michigan Health Systems
Ann Arbor, MI
I was responsible for preparing lesson plans and providing instruction to UMHS & UHS employees regarding multiple features of MiChart, primarily the Cadence function (patient scheduling). I worked with M-Learning as a trainer to enroll and guide users to ensure accurate reflection of courses completed, and to help the security team grant appropriate access to MiChart.
My presentations occurred in typical classroom settings with 10-30 learners per session, large group presentations to several hundred learners, and webinar presentations with interactive questions and answers. Many of these webinar presentations were recorded for e-learning sessions for all UMHS & UHS employees. I worked as part of a team with Interpreter Services on Conversion projects for scheduling Interpreter requests within MiChart. I have worked with the Cadence Business team to redesign training for all users who edit their department’s templates.
Working with several instructional designers has given me insight on how to build the training environment appropriately in Epic. Contact with multiple clinics allowed our team to enhance the capability of the end user to function properly in MiChart. I provided specialized training for multiple departments to increase knowledge and capability within MiChart.
Subsequent to the training sessions, I provided follow-up support to the MiChart users. This included developing/revising lesson plans corresponding to the evolving complexity of the MiChart system. I also created workflow documentation materials to support users during the go-live period. I worked to resolve user questions/requests through the MCIT help desk system. Finally, I created weekly Tip Sheets which are sent out to all MiChart users and are posted on the MiChart website.
I worked in a team setting with other members of the MCIT MiChart Core Teams. My team provided coordinated support through a command center to UHMS/UHS employees during our live activation of MiChart. We also worked together providing at-the-elbow support to multiple clinics during go-live.
