Duties & Responsibilities:

•Assessing physical, psychological needs of the client. Collection personal, social, medical and general data by interviewing formally and informally during various nurse client interactions, observations, review of records diagnostic tests etc.

•Monitoring vital signs of client.

•Monitoring Glasgow coma scale – the level of consciousness is assessed by using Glasgow coma scale.

•Adequate physiotherapy to mobilize the secretions.

•Two hourly change of positions in case of bedridden clients.

•Steam inhalation, nebulization, and administration of oxygen.

•Administering drug – oral, sublingual intravenous, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, administering drugs and fluids via infusion pump and syringe pumps.

•Assisting the physicians and surgeons in various procedures like lumbar puncture, central line insertion, ascetic taping and suture removal.

•Doing various invasive procedures like intravenous line insertion, catheterization, naso-gastric tube insertion.

•Giving urinary antiseptics and bladder wash for catheterized patients.

•Pre and post operative surgical nursing care.

•Maintaining records and reports.
