SR. ACCOUNTANT/ASST. CONTROLLER for North American Transport & North American Logistics: Sep- 2010 – March 2017

Responsibilities: Monthly Financial Statements for two busy companies with $40M in annual revenue, Internal controls, Budgets, Cash Flow, Payroll, fully in charge of AP, responsible for the reconciliation of many Balance Sheet Accounts, involved with the Month End Financials, numerous Ad hoc reports, supervised: Staff Accountant, Billing & AR, Report to two Partners.

Key Achievements:

• Impacted financial management and planning through in-depth assessments, procedural developments, and software recommendations resulting in principals gaining a firm grasp of all financials. Liaison to Auditors,

• Negotiated insurance cost reductions. And Prepaid Schedule was created for the proper Accruals

• Commended for initiating contact with bank representatives to improve information flow and reporting accuracy, as well as the full understanding of the factoring of the receivables, it’s Reserves and its Fees.

• Recommended changing to a new comprehensive Software for our industry; Converted to Mcleod on Aug 2013, formerly; QuickBooks and S.O.S. New chart of Accounts had to be created for the New system (keeping (the old cross reference)

• Fixed Assets Schedule was reviewed, as well as all Notes Payable True Balances were identified with its Proper Interest Expenses. All general Ledger accounts properly coded through their expense allocation codes and proper payable terms, resulting in an efficient AP with no late fees. A transparent and Clean Ledger is now in place.

• Reviewed All Penalties and Taxes related to payroll since 2008 with IRS and FL Dept. of Revenue. Recommended Employee Leasing instead of In-house Payroll, first ADP, at the present Oasis.

• Involved in numerous Debt, Operating Capital, Line of Credit and Notes Payables Financing with Banks. Negotiating Contracts.

• Many more recommendations, such as: Revamping our Driver’s Contracts, Creating and segregating the various Drivers’ Categories Revenue vs. Expense Accounts to determine their profitability, suggested leasing tractors vs. Purchase, which was a positive impact in our repairs and maintenance expenses.

• Liaison between Company and Cpa’s. Suggested a Review of our Financials in order to obtain better bank financing terms.

ACCOUNTANT for Surf Drugs Inc. Rx Managed Care & Home Medical Equipment: Sep 2008 – 2010, North Miami Beach, FL

Responsibilities: Oversaw management of all financials across three independent software platforms, ensuring accurate reporting and management of $8M annually. Handled payroll, cash flow management, accounts payable and needs, and ongoing finance management activities to effectively manage records and automate numerous processes. Supervise A/P. Reported to two owners.

Key Achievements:

• Three different Platforms were handled through Excel in order to present clear and accurate Month End Financials.

• Implemented a budget for the first time in company history.

• Outsourced manual Payroll to Compupay

• Recognized for quickly adapting to a new industry and seamlessly transitioning into this role.

SR. ACCOUNTANT. For Hi-Lift Marina, LLC: Aug-2006 – 2008, Aventura, FL

Responsibilities: Managed all finance-related areas for start-up marina, ensured GL reconciliation and month end closings, supervised one Staff accountant and AP. Reported to CFO.

• Implemented cross-training among staff to reduce bottle necks and ensure 100% coverage of all work areas.

• Excelled in effectively managing all daily accounting functions while establishing SOPs and concurrently creating a comprehensive procedural manual.

SR. ACCOUNTANT. For Gold Coast Beverage Distributors: Mar-2000 – 2006, Miami, FL

Responsibilities: Led all external reporting and analysis of financial statements and fixed assets worth $18M for a company with $400+M in annual revenue. Managed fleet operating and capital leases plus implementation of budgets as well as running the budget variances by department, 50%+ of balance sheet reconciliations and reporting / analysis. Oversaw payroll outsourcing relationships and developed processes to ensure a transparent general ledger. Reported to CFO/Controller.

Key Achievements:

• Collaborated with programmers on two major system conversions. Converted assets from Excel spreadsheet tracking to FAS systems and transition accounting software to MAS90.

• implement new budget, managed its monthly variances and met with Department Heads.

• Created a Comprehensive Chart of Accounts by Departments and/or Divisions.
