SUMMARY
• Master’s student in Aerospace Engineering program at University of Cincinnati seeking entry-level/internship opportunities.
• 3 years of work experience in product design and development through CAD modelling and suggesting design changes, analyzing simulation results
• After working in HyperloopUC, I have comprehensive understanding and experience with cross-functional disciplines. CORE SKILLS
• CFD Analysis: Fluent, Star-CCM+, Fine/Turbo
• FEA analysis: ANSYS; Abaqus
• Design software: Solidworks, Catia V5
• Operating Systems: Windows, UNIX
• Documentation: MS Office, Lyx
EXPERIENCE
CAD Lead HyperloopUC Aug 2015 – Mar 2017
• Led a team of 5 engineers as technical lead for CAD design of hyperloop pod from conceptualization to fabrication.
• Pod design was ranked in top 1% from 1200 teams by SpaceX at Hyperloop competition held at Texas A&M University.
• Created a frame design to sustain loading with a factor of safety of 4 during braking and touchdown phases.
Wheel Assembly
• Designed double wishbone suspension system with tie-rods to resist normal force of 2000N from the wheels.
• Developed 3D CAD models of wheel and its assembly and created 2D drawings for manufacturing with complete adherence to GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Modelled a service propulsion system in Solidworks with a maximum speed of 1.5 m/s as a safety mechanism.
Braking System
• Created CAD models of magnetic and friction brake in Solidworks to provide lateral stability and deceleration from 110m/s to 0m/s.
• Engineered brake bracket system to sustain forces due to eddy current braking during levitation for a pod of 200kg.
• Conducted DFMEA of both magnetic and friction system to ensure safety of the pod while in braking phase by interacting with various team members.
Associate Consultant iLensys June 2012 – July 2013
Single-Use Mixer for Bio Processing Products
• Designed cart base for bioreactor unit cutting down the cost of manufacturing compared to previous versions by 20%.
• Proposed and modelled a door in SOLIDWORKS for high capacity mixers to minimize spilling of fluids from the container.
• Created CAD models and detailed 2D drawings of different sub-components and assemblies in the mixer.
• Developed and maintained bill of materials (BOM) and weldment cut-lists for assemblies and structural members.
• Involved in weekly meetings with clients to propose design changes and review modifications made to the model.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Multi-stage Centrifugal Compressor, Fall 2014
Improved the stall margin of centrifugal compressor by 18.6% to prevent turbochargers from surging at high boost pressure.
CFD analysis of Single Expansion Ramp Nozzle (SERN), Spring 2014 Conducted CFD analysis using Star-CCM+ on the flow over a rectangular plate of aspect ratio 6 at nozzle exit and evaluated pressure distribution on the surface of plate.
