Eskom Distribution – In-service Trainee: I am doing in-service training at Eskom distribution division company which is still in progress. I have got an exposure on the field of work in the department of metering, protection, plant management, customer network center and direct current department. The information I obtained on my training give me the confidence towards the field of work when it comes to electricity.

Line patrol, fault finding on the lines, transformer maintenance, sub-station maintenance (Breakers & Tap changers), commissioning and re-commissioning of meters (Lester & Landis+Gyr), testing of CT’s & VT’s, testing of power transformers and NEC’s, making and testing of earths, commissioning and re -commissioning of relays, wiring of protection panels, termination and ringing out of cables, fault tracing, pressure testing of equipment, relay / scheme testing, testing of transducers / meters, commissioning and re – commissioning of section breakers (Form 5, Form 4, Nulec &Tavrida ).
