Design of Medium Size Blended Wing Body Subsonic Transport Aircraft

• The unconventional design has inherent capability for reduction in fuel burn when compared to the conventional design. Preliminary class 1 and class 2 design for a BWB aircraft.

• The overall design of different main components as well as the aircraft subsystems based on the mass fraction method of weight estimation. The preliminary design of the aircraft is according to the regulations of FAR hence the aircraft is FAR 25 certifiable.

CFD Analysis if Heat Transfer Characteristics of Nanofluid with different Concentration

• Implemented a CAD model of a heated cube in a pipe with constant heat flux system for the simulation and comparison of nanofluid and traditional coolants for their heat transfer characteristics.

• Simulated the system for different concentrations of nanoparticles and coolants for their heat transfer characteristics. The nanofluid showed an increase in heat transfer characteristics by 14 percent. CFD Analysis of Blended Wing Body airplane for aerodynamic forces

• A medium size blended wing aircraft was analyzed and compared with conventional aircraft design for the aero- forces and for fuel burn.

• Simulation was conducted at different angle of attack for the BWB aircraft and results concluded that there is a drastic decrease in drag due to its inherent design. It could conclude that the design would provide 21 percent less fuel burn.

Extra-curricular activities

• Professional aero-modeler

• Conducted workshops on aero-modelling

• Team lead at Blitzkrieg Design Competition, IIT Bombay

• Represented college at district level basketball competition
