Town Planning : Development, Commercial Projects, Infrastructure Evaluation
and Planning.
Chairman - Advertising Signboard Erection Committee: involved in approval of
application and overall strategic planning relating to advertising matters.
Member of Transfer of Services Negotiating Team: involved in top negotiations with
the ex-QwaQwa Government and Unions on taking over functions and personnel
from Government for the areas within the boundaries of the Council (section 78
studies).
Reason for leaving : Council was facing bankruptcy and were about to be put
under administration.

Various Civil Engineering contracts varying from R1m to R8m in value were
executed under my supervision. Several Municipal Infrastructure contracts were
undertaken by me. My responsibilities ranged from material ordering and cost
control to Client and Consulting Engineer and Architect liaison.
On some of the larger contracts, I had been on site and more directly involved in the

execution of the contracts. (2 Concrete Reservoirs – Delmas sewer treatment plant
– rehabilitation of a coal mine.
In between contracts my duties included tendering for, and securing new contracts,
as well as Project Management System Development.
Reason for leaving: Secure contracts were difficult during 1993 and I had 2 sons
to support at School and University. Moving back to a stable income was
necessary.
