B.TECH Final Year Project Details

• Simulation of Deformation due to Vicker's Hardness Test The purpose of the project was to simulate (using ANSYS Workbench 15) the effect of the impact of hardness test Indenter on test specimen & observe the microscopic bulge out of material due to impact. We also observed the variation in simulated deformation and stress characteristics of Aluminum and Steel specimens with varying load and deformation in the plastic zone.

• Stress Analysis of Indentation of a Conical Indenter to an Infinitely Large Plate by Computer Simulated Finite Element Method

The purpose of the project was to simulate (using ANSYS Workbench 15) the effect of Indentation of Conical Hardness test indenter on test Specimen & to observe the variation in the Stress Effects on Aluminium and Steel Specimens with varying Deformation, measuring the plastic zones of the test specimen (using Image-J) and compare them with each other.
