Created and established an Operational Audit program for coal, simple and combined cycle and diesel power plants, which assessed Operations, Maintenance, Administration, and Safety and Environmental performance. Performed a total of 57 audits of North American and International plants.

Implemented programs and procedures to improve and standardize operating procedures, maintenance practices, calculation of performance data and utilization of Computer Maintenance Management Systems. These changes aided in company-wide 1% improvement in Heat Rate and decrease in Average Forced Outage Factor to 1.2%.

Identified problem areas in Environmental Programs, such as inability to monitor required permit conditions. Facilitated resolution of these problem areas, contributing to a 33% reduction in Notices of Violations.

STATOIL ENERGY (formerly The Eastern Group), Bethlehem, PA, 1997 to 2000

Vice President, Plant Operations, 2000, Director, Power Systems, 1999, Operations Manager, 1997 to 1998 – Directed all aspects of operation and maintenance of coal, combined cycle and diesel power plants. Provided Operations Support to Business Development on acquisition and new construction projects.

Guided Power Systems Division, with over 115 employees, assets worth over $119 Million and annual budget of over $39 Million, through the challenges of sale and transition of ownership of the Division’s assets.

Directly managed operational takeover of two facilities acquired by Statoil Energy and served as Statoil Energy’s Partnership Representative and Asset Manager for the facilities. During 1999, both facilities had their most successful operating years with net income increasing by $2.9 and $2.7 Million.

Led negotiations on Collective Bargaining Agreements for two sites, reducing overall costs by over $1.3 Million in the first year.

STEWART & STEVENSON OPERATIONS, INC., Eastern Region, Syracuse, NY, 1993 to 1997

Operations Manager, 1996 to 1997 – Directed the operations and maintenance of 13 Cogeneration Facilities, employing over 200 people.

Instituted policy and procedure revisions to increase profitability, improve contractual compliance and standardize benefit application.

Engineering Manager, 1995 to 1996, Project Engineer, 1993 to 1995 – Provided engineering support on all aspects of the operation and maintenance of cogeneration facilities including: improving efficiency, solving equipment problems, changing facilities from base load to dispatchable and placing facilities in lay-up.

Developed and implemented a safety and environmental audit program and conducted over 30 audits of Eastern Region facilities.

Researched and interpreted environmental laws and wrote an Environmental Compliance Manual, providing plant personnel with clear and concise guidance on achieving environmental compliance.
