SOCIAL RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM:

Implemented tree-based ensemble models and carried out preprocessing of Tencent Weibo data. Ran the code on Amazon EC2 to leverage distributed processing. The total number of tree-nodes and maximum depth of the tree were demonstrated to gain insight on the degree of relationship between users.

HITS/PAGERANK ALGORITHM:

Implemented Kleinberg’s HITS algorithm and Google’s PageRank algorithm using Java.

Analyzed the results for a different convergence rates and initial values for hubs and authoritative pages.

Developed an Android application that enables photo sharing among users.

Leveraged the power of AWS cloud platform to build our own Parse server; to facilitate data storage and analytics.
