Supervise 5 resources and manage IT projects and resource billing for the Fixed Income Domestic and International teams. Instrumental in establishing a billing and monitoring process to support management in identifying project approvals, spends and variances. Project Lead Analyst worked closely with the business doing JAD sessions, and managed IT applications with implementations of a number of underwriting product offerings under aggressive timelines, requiring redesigning, analysis, coding, testing and implementation of Web (Visual Basic/HTML) and mainframe (CICS/COBOL) applications. Expedited deliverables of new products allowing the business to remain competitive in a volatile market.

Instrumental in driving and supporting the company’s transition from legacy applications into the client server technologies for the underwriting team using VB, HTML, and XML supported by Oracle databases incorporating Six Sigma DMAIC business model. Coded CICS, COBOL and VB programs and maintained a multiple platform environment with a GUI Visual Basic frontend and Oracle utilizing a middle tier structure with COBOL, XML and MQ to load the DB2 and VSAM databases to continue support of the backend legacy applications. Created and executed QA and testing processes using regression testing methods and with test scripts using testing tools such as File-Aid, Intertest, and SPUFI to ensure quality products.

Eliminated the IT department’s dependency on the mainframe requiring working closely with the business and cross-functional IT project teams to analyze data redundancies. Database analysis and QA testing were accomplished using SQL, DB2, Oracle, Easytrieve, XML, COBOL and JCL technologies. Performed process reviews and test for the company’s Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) annual financial and reporting controls and implemented business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Hand-picked by management and promoted to senior programmer analyst to drive the development efforts of GE Capital’s first automated underwriting system (GENIUS) utilizing rule based technology. Set priorities and implemented enhancements for the business community.

Implemented (AI) automated underwriting system across all 27 GEMICO branches achieving the target set by the business. Coded the front-end CICS/COBOL application that executed the rule based engine for a SMART underwriting application with data stored VSAM and DB2 tables.

Supervised and managed a support staff of 3 people, prioritized and managed enhancement requests with the user group for the GENIUS project and coordinated the copyright process for the GENIUS product with the internal legal department.

Appointed by President of GE Capital Mortgage as an inductee into the prestigious Pinnacle Club of GE Capital for commendable services rendered in the development efforts of the company’s first expert underwriting system (GENIUS).

Led the implementation of external customer interfaces to the EDI mortgage insurance systems utilizing ANSI-X12 mapping, developed interfaces using TCPIP and LU6.2 connections that fed the legacy CICS/COBOL application systems.

Worked closely with the business to develop an interface to the company’s underwriting system to Fannie Mae’s Loan Prospector and DU’s Desktop underwriting systems to establish a new level of support to our customers in the form of contract underwriting. TCPIP and COBOL used to upload new data transactions to VSAM and DB2 databases.
