Resume:

With the progressive complexity of our population’s health, there is a strong need for exceptional care in the field of primary care. My enclosed resume reflects my 7+ years of nursing experience, accreditations and licenses. If you can use a highly competent professional with exceptional experience in various settings, I am your ideal candidate. As a general medicine provider at Britton Pain Clinic, I work with complex adult patients with multiple co-morbidities on a daily basis. I have gained experience with Preventative Care, Pain Management, Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetes, Heart Disease, COPD, Asthma, etc.

My desire to become a nurse practitioner was brought to light during a high school field trip to the Mayo Clinic. One of the speakers was a nurse practitioner. She shared many personal stories about her patients with such passion, that I knew that this is what I wanted as a career goal. The opportunity to continue learning, educate the public, and potentially inflict positive change in the world of health through primary care is a dream come true. With this as my motivation, I developed strong clinical abilities, interpersonal skills and the work ethic necessary to study graduate level nursing practice at the University of North Dakota (UND). In May 2010, I acquired my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UND. The experiences I assumed throughout my undergraduate studies, as well as the years I have been employed as a registered nurse have reinforced and solidified my intense interest in a nurse practitioner career. Through studying, work and travel, I enjoy the opportunity to meet new people and acclimating to new situations. Educational and work-related experiences have instilled in me the importance of teamwork.

In the field of healthcare, strong leadership and the ability to work well with others is of the utmost importance. I pride myself in my ability to lead others, as well as work as a functional team member who assures the inclusion of all members. Classmates and colleagues have been enlightening, bestowing upon me alternative worldviews. Experiences in the medical world have deepened my passion, as well as strengthened my work ethic and adaptability in learning. Much of this is attributable to the five-year career I had with HealthEast. It was a privilege to be a member of the team, to work and grow in collaboration with others to optimize health and well-being for our communities. In addition to empowering individuals of the community to adequately manage their health. As an NP, I work hard to achieve these goals.

After graduating with my master’s degree in the Adult Geriatric Primary Care track in May of 2017, I chose to continue in the fall to complete a doctoral degree in nursing while working full time. I will graduate with my DNP in May 2019. Further education will strengthen my scientific knowledge whereby, enhancing the expertise of my clinical practice in a world with progressively complex health conditions. Please refer to my curriculum vitae for a detailed description of my education and work experience. If you require additional information, I can be reached by phone at 651-***-**** or by e-mail at *****.*****@***.***. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Megan Johnson
