• Designed and fabricated a low cost water softening and filtration unit using ion exchange resins, activated carbon, magnetic treatment and natural filters.

• Carried out lab studies on water quality parameters like pH, TDS, Dissolved oxygen, COD, BOD, microbial contamination, conductivity. Determined the efficiency of filtration and softening units, studied fouling in resins and AC unit.

• Analyzed lab reports, water quality reports and carried out economic & market analyses for feasibility of commercialization. Dye removal from Industrial waste water (sponsored) Jan 2012 - Jun 2012

• Prepared a new adsorbent (AC) from sugarcane bagasse to remove acidic dyes from industrial waste water from the west coast paper mills.

• Carried out adsorption studies using freundlich adsorption isotherm, analytical and economic feasibility study.

• Carried out lab studies on water quality using pH meters, total hardness, TSS, microbial activity, TDS etc.

• Optimum studies to determine pH, dosage, and concentration were calculated based on lab reports by UV spectroscopy and other techniques; achieved efficiency of 89% dye removal from waste water. Detection and Removal of Triclosan from water using Zeolites and Activated Carbon

• A lab study on Analysis of detection and removal of triclosan from water was carried out.

• Presence of Free chlorine and its effect on triclosan, with potential hazards to humans and aquatic life was studied.

• Removal of Triclosan using Zeolites and Activated carbon was studied, HPLC and GC analysis for the detection of Triclosan was done both before and after removal.

• Comparative analysis on the removal efficiency was done with regard to Zeolites and activated Carbon. PUBLICATION: Co-authored and published a technical paper on production of bio-diesel from jatropha for a national level scientific journal “vijnana samagrate”, India, 2013. ACTIVITIES:
