Work Experience:

Maintenance Technician (MTM) - Republic Steel - Canton, OH - June 2012 to Present

Currently employed as an MTM in the melt shop where we perform daily repairs on 2 - 250 ton Electric Arc Furnaces. Major repairs include but not limited to changing water deltas and delta inserts, changing or welding sidewall water panels, changing, repairing, welding water roof panels, changing or repair of gas burners, carbon high jets and steel water hoses on all the equipment. Change spray rings for EAF electrodes, change and repair mast cylinders Change and repair hydraulic cylinders for the furnace tilt, mast cylinders, locking pins, furnace slag door and all related valving for the operation of the furnace. Maintain hydraulic pumps, tanks and coolers as well as welding, cutting with a torch, cutting with an oxygen lance and air arcing. Operate mobile equipment such as tow motors, loaders, man lifts, skid steer loaders and cherry pickers. Repair all water cooled bag house duct work and dampers for emission control.

Maintenance Technician - Gerdau Ameristeel - Canton, OH - August 2016 to January 2017

Worked here as a Maintenance Technician, both mechanical and electrical on Atmospheric annealing furnaces. Repairing, rebuilding, modifying furnaces to anneal parts for the automotive industry, especially parts for transmissions and rearends.

I worked here during a period of time that I was layed off from Republic Steel, which was my primary occupation since June 2012.

Employed as a Maintenance Technician in a metal stamping plant where we work on several different kinds of mechanical presses such as Danley, Clearing, Bliss, Niagara and others used to stamps parts for the automotive and motorcycle industry. we also repair CNC lathes and CNC laser cutting machines.

We perform all in house work on equipment, both electrically and mechanically as well as welding, cutting, burning and fabrication work. Hired as a Millwright and performed all duties associated with the making of steel bolsters and side rails and smaller parts such as couplers for the railroad industry and other in house parts made in a steel foundry. I worked as a Maintenance Supervisor working on the 2nd or repair shift with a crew of 7 Millwrights, 4 Electricians and 2 Pipe fitters repairing, installing, maintaining and PM's on all the above equipment.

I also schedule and assign the manpower needed to complete our assignments and coordinate repairs and needed downtime with the maintenance and production Superintendents. I use Excel to log employee hours, overtime, sick time, vacation time, incident reports and safety meetings as well as looking up and preparing requisitions for needed repair parts.

I was employed in the Acrylics Dept, where we install, maintain and troubleshoot the fiberglass/resin spray systems used to manufacture Acrylic bathtubs and whirlpools. Maintenance Mechanic A - Homer Laughlin China - Newell, WV - March 1991 to September 1991

I worked on the spray belt where I was responsible for maintaining a steel transport conveyor belt used to move china to different stations to spray glaze on the product. I also maintained the ovens used to dry and bake the glaze on the product as well as maintaining the spray system and extractors used to remove lead form the spray process. I had to rebuild all parts and equipment used on this spray line and order replacement parts, repair pneumatic pumps and maintain air compressors. I had to weld broken equipment and other structural components as well as do maintenance work on any building repairs.

Maintenance Mechanic A - Penn Power Co. - Shippingport, PA. - September 1981 to February 1991

I worked on the boiler crew where we maintained the boiler, high pressure steam valves, ball mill crushers, coal feeders, soot blowers, high and low pressure heaters, coal transport systems, ash transport systems, boiler ash crushers, air registers, and fly ash removal equipment. We also did extensive P.M.s on all equipment as well as rebuilding most of the above. Did structural welding and fabricating. Also had experience on working with steam turbines and pollution controls such as scrubbers, absorbers, and electrostatic precipitators.

Experience working as an upgrade or temporary Maintenance Foreman on all the above equipment, scheduling manpower & assigning work. Experience as a Maintenance Planner who assesses the work, estimates crew size and hours as well as listing the needed parts and tools to complete the work assignment.

Oiler Lubricator - Crucible Steel Co. - Midland, PA. - May 1979 to July 1981

Job duties included oiling and lubing all coke plant equipment which consisted of larry car wheels and bearings, pusher wheels and bearings, conveyor belt rollers and idlers running from the coke plant to the blast furnace. I also had to assist maintenance with coke plant tear downs and rebuilds on equipment. I also have experience working as a Sub Foreman to assist the Maintenance Supervisor, special projects and fill in in his absence.
