Experience
PROJECT MANAGEMENT / CAD UTC AEROSPACE SYSTEMS, LANDING SYSTEMS JUNE 2014 – FEBRUARY 2018
Managed numerous CAPEX projects as an associate facilities engineer. Directed the reconstruction of three furnaces and the installation of one oven, and led many smaller projects. Utilized creative skills in the design phase of furnace rebuilds by using AutoDesk Inventor to design new furnace internals. Ordered materials and labor in SAP, scheduled and managed contractors, and quickly resolved unforeseen issues for each project. Edited P&ID’s of affected equipment as needed. Solved ongoing issues with aging site equipment. Did not hesitate to get hands-on and involved when needed, and worked weekends when necessary. Academic Experience
STRUCTURAL MECHANICS OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS LAMINATE ANALYSIS FALL 2014
Designed an Excel program that used a macro to compute global and local stresses and strains at all layers of a laminate consisting of plies of fiber-reinforced composites. Additionally, the macro computed material properties of the laminate and determined the failure state at all levels of each ply under the applied loads according to four failure criteria.
MATERIALS SELECTION SELETING A MATERIAL FOR MLB BASEBALL BATS FALL 2014
Used CES Edupack to screen and rank materials for MLB baseball bats. Found the optimal balance between high fracture toughness and low density, and low mechanical loss coefficient under the constraints that the bat must be made of wood and that the type of wood must be abundantly available. COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN OF MECHANICAL SYSTEMS FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS IN SOLIDWORKS
SPRING 2014
Performed static and frequency analyses for brackets, beams and pressure vessels as 3D models and shells. In a group setting, optimized a centrifugal governor to be as long and wide as possible inside a confined space while holding the axial deformation and natural frequency below design limits.
