PERSONAL STATEMENT
Adenuga Faidat Adesola is a Senior Medical Social Worker with Prevention of Mother To Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. Her work includes voluntary counseling and testing, adherence counseling, follow-up counseling, psychosocial counselling and other counseling related to HIV and AIDS. Her job in drug adherence with PMTCT, she makes sure that HIV positive pregnant women use their drugs appropriately and as at when due in other to boost their treatment response, increase CD4 (immunity), reduce their viral load and live a healthy life. Most importantly for their children to come out to be HIV negative. Also as a medical social worker her job is also to see to the welfare of patients at the Obstetrics & Gynaecology clinics and wards. She also trains doctors, nurses and other health personnel in the field of HIV/AIDS.
