Summary: Four years of Army ROTC while attending college while holding every leadership position available through the program has made me a very capable leader able to accomplish goals under strict time constraints. I am Currently serving as a Platoon Leader in the Alabama Army National Guard. Have attended several leadership courses through the Army ROTC program as well as the Active Army set in and across the United States.

Critical Skills: Leadership, Planning, Problem Solving, Team Building, Training and Personnel Management, Time management, self-starter, Program Analysis, Analysis, Information Collection. Qualifications

Leadership, Planning & Personnel Management: I have been able to take advantage of many leadership opportunities by participating in four years in the Army ROTC program while attending college. The summer of my junior year at Tarleton State University, I was selected to attend Leaders Development and Assessment Program (LDAC) at Fort Knox, Kentucky, to undergo an evaluation of my leadership and military skills. At LDAC I was in charge of anywhere from 7 to 30 of my peers and was ultimately responsible for my team accomplishing the designated key tasks. I effectively demonstrated that I could be both a good leader and follower. More importantly I learned that everyone needs to be treated with dignity and respect and that everyone wants to succeed if given the opportunity. After attending LDAC, I was once again selected to attend the Cadet Troop Leadership Course (CTLT) at Fort Hood, Texas, to get a full experience in serving as platoon leader with an active duty unit. While at CTLT, I was responsible for leading, training, health and welfare of 30 active duty soldiers, most with recent combat experience. As a platoon leader, I was given the opportunity to manage many aspects of the platoon’s training and overall readiness such as scheduling physical training, conducting maintenance of Bradley Fighting Vehicles and all our Modified Table of Organization Equipment, and ensuring that all the soldiers within my platoon were performing their respective jobs to standard. After Graduating and commissioning into the National Guard I attended the Armor Basic Officer Leaders Course at Fort Benning, Georgia, where I learned about property book management, planning, briefing and executing combined arms maneuvers, scheduling and executing day to day training events, operating and conducting maintenance on the M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, M1A2 SEP Abrams Main Battle Tank, and M1151 HMMWV, and effectively communicating both verbally and written.

Problem Solving and Team Building: As the Class First Sergeant of my ABOLC class, consisting of 37 2LTs, it was my job to provide supervision and guidance to my peers, and to ensure they could effectively coordinate and execute all programmed events. This has allowed me to gain hands on experience by working with many different individuals, from various parts of the nation as well as soldiers from foreign countries to ensure task and mission directed by the chain of command are met. Time Management: I’ve learned to manage a hectic schedule by improving my time management skills. I intuitively plan weekly activities to ensure all priority tasks are completed on time. I maintain the right focus and ensure a balance of work and play.

Intelligence Preparation: Utilized all given/known information provided by intelligence section in order to develop a course of action that would lead to mission success. As a Scout Platoon leader was directed to gather intelligence on all named areas of interest as described by the Company and Battalion Commander. Continually adapted to changing situations/environments in order to ensure all mission critical objectives were met.
