I started with the company in Corvallis prior to completion of the facility. I and 6 other team members researched, coordinated and purchased all the equipment necessary to fit our business model.
My main capacity during the start-up phase was to work third shift and develop and document processes for new tooling and materials.
After completion of start- up tasks and training technicians, I was transferred to my main focus of R & D. My R & D department was also a training entity for manufacturing technicians.
In 2003, I was transferred back to production as Senior Process Engineer and Production Manager. My direct reports included molding technicians, maintenance, production and tool room personnel.
As interim Production Manager, duties included machine utilization and yield efficiency. Maintaining scheduled downtime for tool and machine preventative maintenance with the appropriate internal resources.
Continuous improvement team member and safety committee meetings.
