Commonwealth of PA - Department of Transportation/Office of Administration – 2014 – 2017 – Human Resource Analyst 2

This position serves as lead worker for the Department’s SPF Program/FMLA Program (Sick, Parental and Family Care /Family Medical Leave Act) and back-up to the State Employee’s Assistance Program (SEAP) Coordinator and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator.

Responsibilities include all aspects of case administration to include communications with employees and supervisors/managers, policy interpretation, required system input/transactions, and case monitoring in relation to SPF benefits. Activities require technical expertise in policy and procedures. Determines any anticipated action and contacts appropriate staff of eligibility/entitlements. Ensures timely responses to employee requests for SPF absences, to include initial pending approvals as well as final written communications.

Advises department managers and supervisors of the necessary documentation required to determine leave used during the threshold for entitlement period, and final eligibility for the benefit.

Represents the department in cases involving SPF, SEAP, and/or ADA before any arbitrators, Civil Service, Unemployment Commission, courts of law, or any other similar hearings. This position also conducts training on SPF, ADA, and SEAP topics for Department employees at all levels.

Commonwealth of PA - Department of Transportation – 2012 – 2014 – Human Resource Analyst 1

This position provides case administration to include communications with employees and supervisors/managers, policy interpretation, required system input/transactions, and case monitoring in relation to SPF, Leave Donation, and SEAP benefits. This position functions as a working supervisor responsible for managing of the Sick, Parental and Family (SPF) Care Program statewide along with the Department’s Leave Donation Program; which includes, evaluating the Department’s current procedures and makes recommendations for improvements by drafting new policies, procedures, and guidelines so the Program runs more efficiently. This position supervises a staff of four (4). Also analyses current policies and procedures and makes recommendations to the Office Administration, as needed. This position works very closely with the Department’s Safety Division, Labor Relations Division, and the Union. In the position, traveling is required statewide to conduct employee and supervisor trainings with regards to the Program. Reviews and analyses the Programs tracking system and makes recommendations for enhancements to the system and implements all necessary changes.

This position analyzes, approves/denies SPF cases in accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (SPF Program) for the Department. Duties included reviewing all medical information to enable approval/denial of all request for SPF absences. Processing all SPF absences in SAP for Central Office employees and Institutions assigned. Ensures proper benefits are provided based upon eligibility criteria. Responsible for assuring compliance with Commonwealth’s Leave without Pay Program for H1 employees, including employee eligibility, review of Serious Health Condition forms and other medical documentation, and monitoring entitlement to prevent overuse or overpayment.

This position assisted with the administration of the Family and Medical Leave Act and the SPF program for the Department. Duties included working closely with the SPF coordinators in completing, sending and filing all required written correspondence to employees, field offices and supervisors. Also answers inquiries/questions regarding the SPF Program via mail, email, in person or telephone. Other duties include running various reports pertaining to the SPF program, checking employee eligibility and correct/input absence codes.

Commonwealth of PA - Liquor Control Board – 2008 – Licensing Technician

This position examined all types of licensing applications, tax statements, legal documents and remittances for the various types of licenses processed in the Licensing Division to determine their correct execution and eligibility for processing. The position also reviews the status of licenses and permits when applications are submitted, or when action is being requested for licenses, permits, etc. Reviews incoming applications/documents, sorting by application or document type and distributing time sensitive applications for prompt processing and sorting remaining applications for prioritized distribution. Also processes remittances (checks and money orders) as method of payment to support applications and other licensing transactions.

Commonwealth of PA - Health Department – 2005-2008 – Clerk Typist 2

This position performed a wide variety of clerical duties, functions independently and as the lead clerical worker, and assists with administrative duties at the Central Office, Division of Acute and Ambulatory Care. This position provides clerical support to the Division’s administrative unit, including the Division Director, Assistant Director and Administrative Assistant. Key responsibilities involve making sure policies and procedures regarding licensure and certification for general acute care hospitals, psychiatric units, specialty hospitals, etc. are carried out in a timely manner, facilities licensure, data base maintenance and processing of funds received by the Division. Work also involves preparing licenses, reports, applications for licensure, complaints by telephone or in writing, managing receipt of checks and cash received for licensure materials and surcharge invoices. Also responsible for responding to incoming correspondence regarding licensure information and procedures.

J.P. Morgan Chase Card Services – 2004-2005 – Financial Services Advisor

This position provided financial service advice/customer service to customers/merchants in regards to CC credit accounts. Duties included processing and posting payments to accounts, verifying available balance on accounts, updating personal account information and requests, responding to inquiries regarding account status (past due, closed, security fraud, lost or stolen etc.). Also responsible for processing credit card applications, verifying credit bureau information, approving or declining credit.

Commonwealth of PA - Insurance Department - 1999-2004 – Clerk Typist 3

This position was responsible for providing administrative support for the Workers' Compensation Security Fund. Work involved the typing of a variety of reports, contracts, letters, transmittals, agendas, vouchers, checks from the advancement account and meeting minutes.

Work involved making independent decisions concerning the process to be followed, appropriateness of the information to be processed and the actions taken. The position was also responsible for maintaining the security fund advancement checking account which includes the writing of checks and maintaining the check register and replenishment documentation and performing reconciliations on that account as well as making all purchases for office supplies using an authorized Visa card. This position answered telephone inquiries from claimants, vendors, the public, legislatures and attorneys concerning Fund issues as well as the status of benefits/payments. Other work included the coordination of the annual assessment of WC carriers.

This position was responsible for providing clerical support for the Department Safety Coordinator and 2 Safety Specialists. This position also shared support for 7 management professionals. The type of work performed varied frequently and significantly - In charge of preparing safety statistical reports, preparing workplace id lists, coordinating the receipt of RTK Training and HSSF, timekeeper, inputting of employee training records for the in-service and out service training for all Labor and Industry employees, developing and maintaining the division

filing system, routine typing of letters and correspondences. Also in charge of handling all incoming calls to the division pertaining to RTK or HSSF. Other duties performed as needed.

Commonwealth of PA - Department of Labor & Industry - 1993-1994 - Clerk Typist 2

In this position clerical duties were provided for the Department Safety Coordinator. This position was in charge of compiling safety training data, entering training information and statistics on the computerized training tracking system, reviewing timesheets for

accuracy, preparing travel expense vouchers, maintaining inventory of training resources throughout the Department for loan, developing and maintaining divisional files. Other duties were performed as needed.

PA Blue Shield - 1989-1993 - Transcriptionist

This position was responsible for providing secretarial services (done all via transcription) to a group of field representatives, which worked out of their homes (6) for the company. The duties performed included typing, filing, keeping a log of all outgoing and incoming work and phone calls.

PA Blue Shield - 1988-1989 - Clerk Typist

This position was responsible for performing routine typing for the department staff. Also acted as back-up secretary to the department secretary as required.
