IS Manager Heartland Automotive, LLC – Lafayette, IN 9/2014-Present

Joined Heartland Automotive, a tier 1 supplier to Subaru in Sept. 2014 as IS Manager.

Implemented a fully redundant VMware system to support all manufacturing at both plant locations.

Negotiated new WAN contracts to lower costs, but increase throughput by 750% while keeping the required redundancy.

Managed the elimination of the old AS-400 based ERP system while moving to a new IQMS ERP system, without disrupting production, or vendor supplies.

Designed, specified and installed all IS capabilities for expansion both in existing buildings, and new additions.

Specified, and managed migration to new server base for VMware, keeping all redundancy, while adding significant improvements to support the additional transactions and volume increases that growing from 700 vehicles/day to 1450 vehicles/day.

IT Consultant Robert Half Technology – Madison, WI 3/2012-9/2014

Performed various temporary assignments for Robert Half. Assignments included MS SQL migrations, various VMware VCenter amd VMware View support and installations, with SAN support. Also gained experience with Insequence MES sequencing and serialization software.

IT Manager Walker Stainless Equipment – New Lisbon, WI 3/2010-10/2011

Joined Walker to provide backup to the existing CIO. The existing CIO departed on medical leave for an extended illness. During his absence, I led the IT organization at Walker, a $500 million multinational manufacturer, with locations in Mexico and Great Britain in addition to 12 locations throughout the Midwest, and with corporate offices in New Lisbon, WI.

Led ERP conversion from Macola to Visual Manufacturing project for the Mexico location, providing much improved materials management along with better product serialization management.

Assisted with ERP conversion from Great Plains to Visual Manufacturing for the Fond Du Lac WI location, reducing the order entry time in a build to order environment from two days to under an hour along with improving inventory tracking.

Planned and implemented desktop and server virtualization project saving just the New Lisbon location over $25K per year.

Negotiated new WAN agreement saving the company $24K per year, while doubling bandwidth at primary facilities.

Led a conversion project to move from Pro-Engineer to Autocad Inventor, improving productivity, and reducing development time for new projects.

Implemented a print management program to manage printing costs, saving the company $3K per year.

Designed, and implemented product serialization system to fix warranty tracking issues along with individual unit bar coding requirements, saving the company $25K/year in improper warranty returns.

Led a cross department team to implement document management for Autocad and Pro-E drawings.

Re-engineered the Sales Analysis system with MS Access and Crystal Reports providing more accurate

reports in half the time.

Maintained above 99.5% uptime for all mission critical applications and systems.

Designed wide area network to integrate all locations, and provide Internet access.
