Academic Projects

Frontal Crash Analysis 50% HIII dummy:

Simulated a frontal crash of a pick-up truck to a rigid wall and central pole for NCAP speed tests using a 50% HIII dummy with airbags and restraint system. Pre-processor used Hypermesh & post-processor LS-Dyna. Finite Element Analysis of Piston:

Performed Finite Element Modeling of piston using Hypermesh modeling software. Max von Mises stress and max axial deflection is determined using Abaqus solver and Fatigue life of the piston is calculated using the stresses generated from non-linear FE analysis on Abaqus solver. Stress analysis of geometry with crack:

Compare the values of stress and displacement of geometry with crack using analytical method and computational method. Designed the geometry in Unigraphics NX 7.5 and FE analysis was done in Hypermesh FE Analysis of Hayabusa Motorcycle Chassis:

Performed a FE analysis of Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle chassis by modelling chassis using Hypermesh and conducted structural analysis under different loading conditions on Optistruct analysis software. Examined the different stresses on chassis structure in Hyperview and inspected the failure areas. Design Optimization:

Performed size and topology optimization of different components using Hypermesh, Optistruct and solidThinking Inspire which results in significant improvement in mass and waste reduction and helps reducing the overall manufacturing cost without hindering the strength or performance of the part Solar operated pneumatic vice and water operating system: Worked as a project leader to fabricate a system which utilizes solar energy in order to operate the pneumatic vice and water lifting system by storing the compressed air from a compressor in to a storage tank. Used CATIA V5 for designing the basic structure
