ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Leadership:

Directed and led the design and implementation of all training, education and development for a workforce of over 1000 employees from the C-Suite to entry-level staff. Member of the Leadership Council and Directors Council, served as a Communications Team Leader, and chaired the Hospital’s Service Excellence Committee. Created the first TDH approved Patient Transfer Center in San Antonio to comply with EMTALA laws and regulations, and to facilitate the most effective patient transfers between medical providers and facilities in south-central Texas to a Level 1 Trauma Center. Organizational Development/Training:

Responsible for overall training and development while spearheading a conversion of Learning Management from “trainer- centric” to “learner-centric” and a flipped classroom approach. Created and conducted all leadership training for entire management group which includes succession planning, servant leadership, communication, quality and teamwork. Developed and deployed complex core and process programs of instruction in all aspects of the receivables management cycle. Coordinated and provided physician training for over 3000 physicians and allied health personnel on new Electronic Medical Record system. Developed standards of productivity, and coordinated all eligibility service activities with contracted hospital clients while in a vendor agreement. Talent Management:

Implemented process improvements to lower costs and improve services to facility customers which resulted in a reduction in staff turnover from approximately 38% to 25% at one facility, and from over 50% to less than 10% at another facility. Technology:

Initiated RFP process for purchase of a Learning Management System (LMS); Institute Administrator of the (LMS). Certified facilitator for Centra e-learning events. WebEx facilitator for eMeetings. Developed specific budgets, objectives and performance standards for all education and development activities. Managed up to $1M department budgets. Established point-of-service (up-front) cash collection protocol and payment processing of all hospital patients meeting monthly goals of approximately $200k. Ensured unit revenue and expenses were within budget and assured compliance with federal, state, and local agency guidelines. Operations:

Directed daily operations of all Patient Access functions at a 1000 bed for-profit acute care hospital supervising over 100 staff in 18 decentralized registration sites. Decreased registration and average patient wait-times by 70 minutes (78 %); increased point-of-service cash collections by 23 percent; increased pre-registration rate from 50 % to 95 % of all scheduled patients and developed full pre-admission testing program for facility.
