Responsibilities Include: The total management of care of neonatal patients in the clinical setting and pediatric ventilator patients and their families in the home setting which involves empowering the families in care of their child and assisting in equipment and supply management, tracheotomy management and care, IV therapy, laboratory sampling, airway management, infection prevention,
gastrostomy tube placement and management, nutritional education, and assistance with all aspects of daily living and meeting the needs of the child and infant . At Southcrest I also work in the NICU and Level one nursery providing total care and education to the neonate and family in prepare for discharge into the home setting which includes discharge planning, follow-up referrals and testing. I work with the neonatologists, nurse practitioners, and 15-20 doctors including pediatricians and family practice physicians.
I was also a chart abstractor during the spring of 2008 for OK Heart and coached Varsity and freshman girls’ basketball for Bob Banfield at Charles Page HS this past season.
