Injection Molding Machine Operator / Set Up

Set Up Molds and dies for 7 injection molding machines as well as run and operate 2 dryers and 2 scrap part grinders.

Dry, weigh up and mix several different materials(8-10) and colorants(25-30) as needed. Work as a team as well as individually.

Perform visual check on parts using a microscope, (E.g shortfill, flashing, splay, pulling, cracking, sticking), throughout entire job.

Perform set up/quality checks, (E.g check part tolerances, compare part to blueprint, inspect part under comparator, compare part to QC checked sample parts), on first 10 parts ran then continue checks as scheduled until order is completed.

Perform visual/quality checks to strive for and push to achieve %100 quality. Work under tight deadlines.

Calibrate machines for new material and testing.

Change colorant and material depending on the part scheduled and machine/mold needed to run specific job. Just recently began training for the position of Tool Maker/Mold Maker in the Tool & Die department also. Trained on calipers and micrometers.

Currently training on Brother CNC, Lathe, Drill Press, Surface Grinders, Mitsubishi Wire EDM, and many others.

Set up machinery, 5 different peeners, numerous molds and dies to be ran in many different presses as well as drills, taps and a drill press.

Clip off and strip down wire ends then terminate metal pin connector ends on bare stripped wire ends before then inserting the metal pin connectors into new plastic snap connector, finally connect motor to test box and run test on completed terminated motor.

Monitor, adjust and verify numerous types of screw guns/torque guns to be verified with torque wrenches. Assembled wiper blades, motor casings and small motors which then can be terminated and tested before being installed on Semi trucks, Military Hummers, Buses and many other commercial vehicles. Attended classes and received certificates for quality control, time management Selected by management to travel to Iowa for a three week period in which we reestablished the sister company that was struggling. I am currently employed and in training for the positions of Tool Maker/Mold Maker in the Tool & Die department after running the Injection Molding department for the past 3.5 to 4 years. Tool & Die has been operating extremely short handed so I was given the opportunity to help out and learn new skills. I am not very confident in the future of my current company/employer. I'm looking to move forward with a stable and reputable company while learning new skills, meeting new people and contributing to the future success and growth of my next employer.
