Los Alamos National Lab (COMPA Industries, Sr. RCT) Los Alamos, NM 87544 05/13 to 05/14. Duties and Responsibilities-Senior RCT UI-MSS, provide RCT coverage to all areas that do not have assigned RCT coverage. Work with numerous radiological instruments. I wrote the recipes in which the operators would follow in order to treat the waste to bring it to a neutral state and get it to LDR limits for final burial/or disposal. I pulled samples from treated waste and sent them to LABS for verification that waste met LDR. I was in charge of ordering all the chemicals needed to treat the waste and ensured all MSDS’s were available for all chemicals on site.
City Of Aiken, (Buildings and Grounds) Aiken, SC. 02/07 to 07/07 Duties included taking care of a 14 acre garden. Mowing the lawns, pruning bushes, pulling volunteers, clipping roses, fertilizing, planting. Also worked around the city on the “Beautification Project”, and was also put in charge of the summer crew. Also provided support to the on-site mechanics in the soils department... Performed Radiological Surveys, performed material release surveys, posted Radiological Areas, performed job coverage at Access Control Points, performed Pre-job Briefs, involved with Post-ALARA Briefs, and wrote surveys, use of numerous dose rate and contamination instruments. Envirocare of Utah, (Decon Tech) Clive, Ut. 10/02 to 01/04 Worked as decon technician in the Box Wash. Worked with the direction from RCT’s in order to perform the job safely. Ensured proper PPE was worn and on correct RWP for the day. Was also presented with the opportunity of being sent to New Horizons Educational Center in Salt Lake City, UT to be enrolled in a 3 month course on Radiological Control and Radiation Protection techniques. Course was from 10/03 to 01/04, study material was the DOE Radiological Protection Manual, with the final outcome being presented with the DOE CORE. EDUCATION:
