Responsible for partnering with the leadership team to organize and manage day-to-day administrative and operational functions. Partners with all levels of the Schomburg Center staff and serves as the Center’s liaison for Human Resources, NYPL Technology, Facilities, Security, Capital Planning, Finance and other Library units to execute day-to-day operations of a complex organization within a very large library system. Supports the Executive Director in maintaining budgets, developing operational spending plans and budget allocations, forecasting expenditures and supporting financial decisions analysis. Prepares, in collaboration with NYPL Budget Office, supporting budget/finance summaries, metrics, schedules and reports on a monthly basis. Oversees business development initiatives, including the Schomburg Shop, e-commerce initiatives, space rentals and other revenue generating activities. Responsibilities include conceptualizing and implementing enhanced strategies to increase sales, enhance services, evaluate performance and manage team members. Works with Senior Management Team and NYPL Capital Planning to forecast physical plant needs and help prepare budget proposals for public and private funding. Manages all renovations with Capital Planning. Works with all staff to ensure the highest quality safety and presentation of the facilities and strengthens the customer service experience. Collaborates with Director of Strategic Initiatives and NYPL External Relations office to assist fiscal compliance with grants, coordinates with the team to ensure compliance with budget guidelines and helps ensure that all reports are submitted accurately and in a timely manner. Provides assistance to supervisory staff in resolving day-to-day management and operational issues. Facilitates library system-wide training and was instrumental in tailoring training specifically for the New York Public Library staff.
