Work Experience

Desktop Support Engineer at Hollard Insurance Co.

I served Hollard supporting end users with application support and administration from 03 April 2016 till 03 November 2017.

Hollard was upgrading its Systems from Win7 to Windows 10 were I upgraded and migrated the user across the two platforms. Moving from the native Exchange server to cloud with Office 365. I was also a team member in MDM (Mobile Device Messaging) installation project, not forgetting the day to day support of password and in-house application and administration on Active Directory, File and Print Servers. I was a project leader in Bitlocker and Office Scan migration and installation. I also lead the term in upgrading the out of warranty devices in assert management project. I joined Hollard as a Helpdesk technician logging calls to desktop support but with my dedication and hard work I managed to move and join the Desktop Support team within 3 months.

1st line IT Helpdesk System Support at Standard Bank:

I am a 1st line support for all the Standard Bank users whereby I used to support their user logon profiles, reset password, troubleshoot user profiles for windows NT and XP, Outlook 2003, XP and 2007, Using remedy tool to log, record and escalate calls or incidents to the support areas. I also troubleshoot desktop applications like (OS2, SAP, GTX and Avaya Phones, Outlook, 3270 Attachmate) remotely using Altiris carbon copy application. I do printer installations and troubleshooting. I started from the 3rd April 2007.

Desktop Support at Forgeahead ICT Research & Consulting Company:

April 2005 to 2006, I was providing hardware and software support, being in contact with vendors supplying third party hardware and support, re-build, configure and test desktop hardware and software like Linux GNONE and SUSE software, Train and guide users on newly implemented software, Asset tagging, UPS and RT Systems hardware, Creating user accounts in Window Server 2003 Active Directory console, adding computer to the domain.

I was doing the Windows XP image rollout and Oracle 9 and Toad installation, Configuring Novell GroupWise Messaging, Data backup, Printer installation and RAS configurations for Mthombo IT contracted by Eskom users as contractor from October 2005 to February 2006
