Cooper is a leading publicly-traded global manufacturing organization with manufacturing facilities on three continents, sales and distribution networks around the world and products that meet and exceed the demands of the world's most dynamic markets.

SENIOR MANAGER - COOPER PRODUCTION SYSTEM & MANUFACTURING STRATEGY

Global Leader of The Cooper Production Systems (CPS) – Managed manufacturing teams on a High Performance Organizational journey that included: strategy development, deployment, disciplines, education, and accountability. Focus was to develop an organization with a Zero Loss mentality to improve the value position for Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost.

My team included an organization of seven functional corporate team leaders and leaders at all of the nine global plants as well as four global CPS coaches. Mandate was to transform the culture through a defined process creating an environment for continuous improvements and adding clarity through simplicity. I led the team to develop the vision, deploy the strategy, set the direction, manage the phased assessments, provide training, align plant and corporate leaders and report quarterly to the CEO on progress and next steps.

Launched CPS in Q4 of 2015, and fully deployed CPS to all sites moving from pilot to full plant assessments. Pillars included: Safety, Quality, Employee Engagement, Visual Management, 5S, Asset Care and Standard Work. CPS is successfully delivery Zero Loss impact.

Successfully implemented CPS at all nine manufacturing sites, including organizational design/support

Developed Vision Cascading from the Corporate Business Vision to individual plants

Developed the methods/strategy map to deploy CPS, setting expectations, developing Visual Factory/Management roadmap for each plant

Developed a Leadership Governance Team to over-see and align progress and to manage the organizational pace

Global Leader of Manufacturing Strategy (Industrial Engineering & Project Management) – Supervised Corporate IE Managers with dotted line reports at all of our nine global manufacturing plants. Responsible to ensure that Capacity vs. Demand Ratio requirements were sufficient to meet growth goals at each site. Managed the Capital Expense budget (+$180M per year). Our focus was on Capacity, Cost Savings, Automation and Project Management.

THE PROCTER & GAMBLE COMPANY - CINCINNATI, OH (1996 - 2015)

P&G is a $95B global manufacturer of consumer-packaged goods with over 95,000 employees worldwide.

SENIOR CUSTOMER SUPPLY MANAGER FOR NORTH AMERICA – Promoted to this new role with responsibilities focused on identifying, developing and integrating supply chain solutions. Responsible for business plans & initiatives to improve Net Out-Side Sales and drive economic value creation from the supply chain. Led a staff in corporate and plant roles with a focus on major customers (Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, Sam’s, Kroger, etc.). Worked directly with the P&G Customer Sales Team and had direct interface with customers. Our efforts focused on World Class Supply chain results and efforts to drive costs-out (inventory, on-time, case fill reliabilities).

Achieved Best in Class results for SAMBC / JVC (Service as Measured by Customer/Joint Value Creation) and managing for end-to-end supply chain solutions, receiving multiple recognition rewards.

Delivered back to the business Supply Driven NOS as a percentage of Sales (YOY $14 – 15M of increased sales).

Delivered supply chain solutions for every new product launch from the manufacturing site to the customer’s shelf (measuring each successful new product launch with 98% target rate).

PROGRAM MANAGER FOR NORTH AMERICA – Advanced to this new role, responsible for Global Capacity Improvements for end-to-end Cost Savings. Led teams through ideation session, functional teams, and individual plant teams across five global manufacturing sites, Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing and Initiative Launch.

Delivered 3 years straight $80M of YOY savings to the bottom line for profit improvements.

Developed and implement short and long-term savings strategies to achieve business goals.

Established the Capacity to Demand ratio – developed the standard for strategic planning & optimization of new technologies and product initiatives.

Managed and led the Project Team for a $45M expansion to deliver needed capacity for volume growth in the Pet Health & Nutrition business.

P&G / IAMS OPERATIONS MANAGER – joined the Iams Pet-food Company due to my experience in plant start-ups. Responsible to locate, design & engineer, construct, and manage the new plant start-up (Greenfield) plant. The site remains a top performing facility in all measures of performance (SQPCD) for P&G/Mars.

Site was the most efficient startup in P&G history ($235M construction spend)

Design was forward-thinking to provide future expansions that would more than double capacity

Logistics included truck and rail service (inbound/outbound)

Organizational design studies and launch included:

o24/7/365 Planning – biological testing for best schedule

oStarted and maintained a High Performance Organization structure

oTeam of 225 employees were hired, trained and educated to be owners and were responsible for all aspects of daily operational activities, utilizing key Lean/Six Sigma tools and the P&G Production system (IWS – Integrated Work Systems), including all aspects of SQPCD, HSE and food safety

Drove plant production performance to lowest cost per unit vs. other NA Plant operations

Put Safety Systems in place to drive TRIR below 0.5

Achieved IWS status in record time vs. other P&G sites

THE AGRANA GROUP – BRECKSVILLE, OH (1989 - 1996)

Agrana IS a food company based in Austria, that produces sugar, starch, fruit preparation, juice concentrate . Agrana is mainly supplying to the international food industry, through 50 facilities globally. Primary US customers include the dairy industry, with a focus on yogurt, ice cream, and pastry (Danone, Yoplait, Fage, Stoneyfield, and bryers)

PLANT MANAGER – Promoted to Plant Manager of our largest North America site in Sidney, Ohio, producing fruit and flavor preparations for the dairy industry.

Managed the shutdown of the Cleveland, OH facility and led the New Plant Brownfield site Startup in Sidney. Developed shutdown strategy balanced with startup responsibilities in our new site.

Managed out-placement and relocation for all affected employees.

The new state of the art site became the most efficient production site for AGRANA in NA ($150M).

Responsible for all aspects of daily operations, managing Safety, Quality, Productivity, Costs, P&L, Logistics and Food Safety for regulatory compliance

125 employees were hired, trained and educated as owners for daily operational activities.

This role was the primary contact with our principal customer for all operational improvements and system solutions.

OCEAN SPRAY CRANBERRIES INC. – SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX (1982 - 1989)

Ocean Spray is an agricultural cooperative of 700 growers of cranberries and grapefruit headquartered in Lakeville/Middleborough, Massachusetts. The cooperative employs 2,000 people, with sales of +$2B.

OPERATIONS MANAGER – On a fast track management program that included managing in the following roles: Making Shift Manager, Packaging Manager, Quality Manager, Manager of Harvest Cranberries/Grapefruit, and Logistics Manager (Transportation & Warehouse).
