Travelocity, Inc., Southlake, Texas 2001 – 2015
Solution Architect
•As a key member of Travelocity Data Center migration team, handled migration of all Financial Applications and databases from traditional UNIX environment to private cloud, resulting in $10M annual savings in maintenance cost. Performed application dependency analysis, determined business requirements, identified migration strategies, negotiated schedules, and determined risks. Partnered closely with System Engineering team, DBAs, Implementation Engineers, Network and Storage teams to ensure execution of Migrations.
•Expedia/Orbitz transition - Designed migration strategies for transitioning the Travelocity business to Expedia and Orbitz. Planned resources, budgeted hardware, scheduled work. Reduced staff requirements by 80% as well as the risk of breaking the system.
•Formed off-shore development team, moved all development and QA work to off-shore. Provided requirements, design documents, schedule estimates and risk factors. This off-shore on-shore model resulted in reduction of staff required in US headquarters.

Travelocity, Inc. (Continued)
•Led off-shore team of developers and QAs to deploy Fraud prevention system for on-line travel reservation system. The system is built on Java 2 platform, J2EE components using Eclipse as an IDE, JBOSS, Tomcat, Oracle, Spring framework, MQ, JMS. Reduced fraud from $11M to $4M per year.
•Actively helped the fraud team with analyzing fraud trend and developing rules to prevent fraud.
•Implemented Golden Gate Data Replication tool for creating Data Warehouse of fraud data on Teradata to be used for Analytics and business intelligence.
•Architected simplification of infrastructure by leading effort in migration of the Fraud system and finance systems to three Unix machines from over 200 machines; reduced implementation time and increased safety and frequency of releases. Deployed load balancer to provide load balancing and fail over strategy for disaster recovery.
Interpick/Siemens, Irving, Texas 1994 – 2001
Architect
•Responded to RFPs to enhance and streamline Order Management System for United States Postal Service’s Automated Fulfillment System. Resulted in award of maintenance contract worth $2M per year.
•Implemented an order management system to automate prescription orders for over 100 Kaiser Permanente pharmacies. Enabled reduction in pharmacist staff to 40 from over 200.
American Airlines Decision Technologies, DFW, Texas 1990 – 1994
Senior Consultant
Designed and developed various models for airline and airport applications using C/C++ Solaris, HPUX, AIX and MIPS UNIX platforms and Windows with ORACLE and INFORMIX database interface.
•Profitability and CRSSIM Model - Developed a software model to estimate profitability, market share, CRS screen presence, identify high revenue opportunities.
•Aircraft Routing - Developed a software model to assist in planning of optimal aircraft routings. Reduced development of routing time from one week to one hour.
•Gate Planning - Enhanced an Expert System for planning and controlling Gate Assignments, reducing flight delays often related to gate scheduling.
•Fleet Assignment - Ported Fleet assignment model from mainframe/FORTRAN to UNIX/C. The model uses integer linear programming to assign or reassign aircraft types to flight assignment to maximize profit, revenue objectives and meet various operational constraints.
•Connect Point Generator - Developed connect point generator to determine optimal set of connect points for all city pairs. Reduced execution time of model by more than 80%.
