Multiple Corporations in family / corporate owned commercial and residential properties, real estate development, custom home and multi residential new home construction, home renovations and landscaping.

Employed by a family owned set of corporations and reporting to the operating owner / president. Responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities for a multi corporate set of company's involved in custom home, new single / multi residential home development and construction, and corporate owned industrial-commercial set of properties. Property accounting and management of residential, retail, office, restaurant and health care rentals for family and corporate owned properties (approx. 250,000 sq. ft.), including but not limited to: CAM and Tax, TMI, leasing, rent rolls, MPAC, budget preparation, analysis, cash flows, collections and cost recovery.

Overseeing, performing and leading all day-to-day finance operations including functional responsibility over accounting, revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable, estimating, financing, banking, project accounting and payroll / benefits. Ensuring that all companies have the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits.

Preparation of all monthly and yearly reconciliations, accruals, supporting schedules, working papers and consolidated financial statements as required.

Tarion administration, renewals; leading, performing and training of customer service support staff within the office and on-site personnel to effectively manage ongoing customer care as required.

Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and all governmental regulatory requirements (local, municipal, provincial and federal) including but not limited to GST/HST, PST, EHT, WSIB, Payroll.

Liaise with all bankers, lenders, auditors, lawyers, Provincial and Federal government regulators and auditors, architects, engineers, contractors / subcontractors, internal and external personnel.

Supervision and training of accounting personnel. Support and encourage personal and professional development of employees.

Stepped up to the challenge of developing multiple start-up company’s financial templates and GL accounts, as well as efficient systems for new job project costing, payroll, registration & benefits as required.

Implemented and maintained internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, including program budgets and actual expenditures.

Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep the president abreast of all Company’s financial status.

Support the president in engaging all audit and finance issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery.

Implemented, utilized and managed organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the president; continuously collaborate with the president to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.

Manage and track the performance of invested assets (properties, money market investments, equipment and machinery) in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.

Harnesses attention to detail to administer payroll for 5 F/T and 50 subcontractor employees (at any given time), including effective management of source deductions, WSIB, Insurance Certification and Bonding, T4's, T5018's, and all other governmental regulatory remittances as required.
