Projects Summary

Product data Management:

To enable data sharing between Schmetz GmbH and Schmetz India Pvt. Ltd by a product database. There more than 10,000 needle types. Various levels of product data with drawing support were prepared.

Tufting needle design and development:

Reverse engineered competitor's needles and then re-engineering. Measurements were taken from the samples with the aid of measuring devices like profile projector, specialized gauges and sketch were created and 3d models were generated from which manufacturing drawings were created as per standards

Module block development:

Standardize modular block which holds a group of tufting needle or tufting machine spare part like knifes, loopers hooks etc. There were different makes we managed to create parts which can be interchangeable.

Critical component development:

To develop a interchangeable spare part to incorporate a new style of stitching existing in a new sewing machine for the existing sewing machine.

Tufting machine spare parts:

To develop interchangeable spares for various tufting machines. There is currently no standard as each machine was custom made.

Catalogue preparation:

To prepare and maintain a catalogue drawings of all tufting needles for maintaining standards.
