WORK EXPERIENCE
MARICOPA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – Deputy Sheriff
I began my career with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office on December 8, 2003 as a Deputy Sheriff. My assignments at the Sheriff’s office have been at Court Security, District 1 Patrol and, District 6. While I was on Patrol I also had the additional responsibility of being a FTO in District 1 and trained as a Tactical Flight Officer with our Aviation unit. So far during my career with the Sheriff’s Office I have been awarded the Sheriff’s Accommodation Medal and, a Unit Citation. I have completed the Officers Flying Armed course on line and I have been on five extradition trips. I have also worked in the Sun Lakes area and worked with the Sun Lakes Posse on several occasions. The Posse members I have worked with have been very motivated and I enjoyed working with them.
From 01/04/15 to 05/25/16 I was assigned to the Occupational Safety Division. My duties were to schedule and conduct Fire and Life Safety inspections at the MCSO facilities. Post inspection I worked with the personnel at the facilities and Facilities Maintenance to have deficient items corrected. I am responsible for tracking all the reported injuries in the Sheriff’s Office. When an ADOSH complaint was received I helped with the investigation of the complaint. I also coordinated storm water band SPCC spill containment and coordinate with Maricopa County Environmental. I also had the responsibility of keeping the units vehicle current on maintenance items and perform monthly inspections. One of my other responsibilities was the Vehicle Use Permit (VUP) person in my division. I was also a member of AGSA (Arizona Government Safety Association).
ONTARIO AIRCRAFT SERVICE – Operations Manager
From 1998 to 2001 I was employed with Ontario Aircraft Services as the AM Operations Manager. I had ten supervisors and three hundred part- time employees reporting to me. I was responsible for all cargo aircraft ground operations at Sky Harbor Airport. I had over 30 aircraft on the ground during ramp operations which I was responsible for all safety aspects for all my employees, ground equipment and aircraft. I also had to work closely with all of the customers and vendors for a successful operation. I was also responsible for all training of new employees. YELLOW FREIGHT SYSTEMS – Truck Dock Supervisor
From 1996 to 1998, Supervised the loading and unloading of cross county, State, City of Detroit, and cross dock operations, responsible for the shipping of hazardous materials ensuring that this materials where loaded safely and correctly for DOT standards, I supervised the work performance, and attendance of a 100 employees. BURLINGTON AIR EXPRESS - Ramp Crew Supervisor
From 1989 to 1996 I worked for Burlington Air Express or known today as BAX Global as a ramp crew supervisor. My duties there were aircraft ramp operations. I had a ramp crew of ten employees. My crew was responsible for moving aircraft in and out of ramp positions, loading and unloading cargo aircraft and launching aircraft. I also performed as a Load Master and flew on the aircraft when required.
EVERGREEN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES - Assistant Ramp Manager and Acting Outstation Manager.
I began working for Evergreen in 1987 as a part time Aircraft Marshaler and, ramp crew member. My duties included moving aircraft around an active ramp in and out of ramp positions, loading and unloading cargo aircraft and launching aircraft. I also performed as a Load Master and flew on the aircraft when required. In 1987 I was promoted to ramp crew supervisor. By 1989 I was promoted to Assistant Ramp Manager and Acting Outstation Manager. One of my other responsibilities was to be a trainer for new employees. US ARMY CAVALRY SCOUT – Sargent E5
From 1983 to 1986 while I was on active duty in the United States Army I was a Cavalry Scout
(19D) and, Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) team member. As part of my duties I participated in countless aerial operations including insertions and extractions from landing zones and acted as a flight crew member. The primary aircraft I operated in was a UH-1 Iroquois
(Huey). While I was on active duty I did participate on three major deployments. During my service in the Army I was awarded the following decorations: Army Service Ribbon, Primary Leadership Development Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon and the Army Achievement Medal. EDUCATION
