REASON FOR

APPLYING AND

PERSONAL

PHILOSOPHY:

I am a 29 year old male and pride myself in being a hardworking, reliable and trustworthy employee. I am skilled in automotive repair, electrical installations and specialise in pipefitting metalwork and just finished a course as Fitter and Turner with ATI (Artisan Training Institute) in Roodepoort.

I have been employed at Aveng Grinaker-LTA for four years. I completed the company’s in-house training and qualified as an in-house pipefitter. I was provisionally appointed as a semi-skilled level 4 artisan. During 2015 I passed all the relevant exams and practical tests and was subsequently promoted to a pipefitter with own toolbox. I work independently on my own projects and drawings. I finished a contract as Pipe Fitter with Encore at Sasol in Secunda.

As you can see I am skilled in more than one field due to life taking its course with me. Due to the Pipe fitting field being too unstable and only depending on available contracts, I decided to go into a more secure field and just finished my Fitter and Turner Training. I am booked for my Trade Test and is awaiting the date. Due to my extensive background, my recognised prior learning counted in my favour. I completed a basic Fire and Emergency training course in February 2017. Employment stability and growth is very important to me. I wish to develop my skills and trade, ultimately specialising in a specific field where I can establish myself as an asset for the company. I would like to work towards permanent employment and not only contract work. I would appreciate any opportunity to prove myself. PERSONAL
