I am a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English from Philippine’s National Center for Teacher Education: Philippine Normal University-Manila. With the prestigious teacher-training that I received from my alma mater and with my 6 years of experience teaching working in both primary and high school levels including those outside of the traditional classroom (i.e online classes and personal tutorial classes), I have a diverse background with much to offer.
I have been teaching English both in the traditional and online school setting for years. I have handled beginners to advanced students, which created more avenues for me to learn various teaching strategies. Most of my years teaching were spent as an English, Literature, and Mandarin teacher and Debate Organization adviser/moderator in a government secondary school, where my responsibilities required highly-dynamic pedagogy skills, organizational skills, and management skills. In this job, I demonstrated creativity and the ability to organize things to adapt with any situation.
In addition to this experience, I am gaining more exposure to smart working; as I initially worked as a part-time writer and editor in an international travel blog and as I later started my own blog as well. In this field, I am expected to meet handful of deadlines accordingly. It requires meticulous writing and editing skills, and the ability to convey creative ideas clearly.
My major strengths include strong work ethics, competency, team player, and attention to detail. I also bring to the table, with a TOEIC score of 920, my close to native speaker’s communication skills both in writing and speaking and my trainings in reviewing and facilitating SATs, IELTS, and TOEIC.
