SR. METALLURGY SCIENTIST/ENGINEER

Hydrogen Fuel Cells/CAD/Electrochemistry/Battery/Filtration / R&D / Patents / LEAN

Chemical Engineering / Team Lead

Quality Assurance / DOE / Metallurgical Engineering Applications Development / Federal Compliance

A highly regarded leader in the exploration and utilization of filtration/hydrogen technology, I combine the empirical skills of a scientist with the pragmatic sensibility of an engineer.

Currently designing a high-performance Batteries, hydrogen fuel cell befitting a wide variety of private and public sector applications, I will be an asset to any organization serious about alternative energy opportunities.

Designing unique car fuse and hydrogen fuel cell innovations

Developing nuclear power containment solutions

Controlling R&D costs with increased efficiencies

Collaborating with international scientists and engineers Liquid Alkali metal hydraulics

Exceeding project goals under budget and ahead of schedule

My PhD in Materials Science and Engineering is from Marquette University and I earned my MS in Electrochemistry and my BS in Chemistry at Sogang University.

Peers see me as passionate, committed and enthusiastic about the commercialization of new technologies related to alternative energies. Bilingual English/Korean.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Developed Coatings/catalyst Solution for HTM Project. Eltron’s Hydrogen Transport Metallic Membrane (HTM) project suffered from sealing problems. Assessed high temperature and high pressure issues, designing chemical and mechanical solutions. Resolved degradation issue, protecting HTM for further study and understanding.

Solved Nuclear Power Containment Challenge. Eltron project revealed that high head loss due to pressure drop threatened nuclear cooling process. Adjusting the point of zero change and the iso-electric point between emulsion and debris, I improved core cooling solution operations critical to plant containment. Results were presented and published by the Electrochemical Society.

Devised Cost Effective Resolution. Argonne was experiencing high levels of metal dust, negatively impacting hydrogen experimentation. Assessed challenges identified root cause and developed economical metal alloy coating to eliminate contamination issues. Awarded US patent for revolutionary industrial solution. Enrico Fermi Scholar Fellowship

Joined International Development Efforts. Chosen by DOE for International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor design team, working with European and Asian colleagues. Delivered electrical insulator coatings, eliminating magneto hydrodynamic force in 1st wall blanket liquid metal cooling Magnetic Fusion Reactors designed Advanced MFR from US-DOE.
