As an engineer and an artist, using CAD has always been my tool of choice that intertwines the two. For the past 15 years, I’ve been using AutoCAD, both personally and professionally. The world of computer drafting and engineering is a world that I know best. TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST
MegaMeeting/LiveLitigation (April 2014 - Present)
I started this job with hardly any prior knowledge of the online video conferencing platform. I’ve since become the top support specialist in the company and have many clients who are now on a first name basis.
- Train new clients how to use our hardware & software
- Keeping a cool head while troubleshooting under very strict court room time restrictions
- Research unique queries that may come up during a support call, gather information, and find a solution.
AUTOCAD & SOLIDWORKS ENGINEER
Preferred Displays Inc. (2010 - 2013)
This was one of my most rewarding jobs. Not only did I get to see my drawings come to life, but I also got to see them on display in retail stores across the globe. With incredibly strict deadlines, the action was nonstop during day to day operations.
- Create and design point of purchase displays for large retail companies (Sephora, Bare Escentuals, JC Penney, Macy’s)
- Work closely with project managers to make sure the client gets exactly what they want.
- Create 2D drawings in AutoCAD to establish the most efficient way to utilize shelf space when given the dimensions of the client’s products.
- Generate 3D renderings using SolidWorks to help our clients visualize the permitted space whilst giving our shop floor as much information as possible

CAD ENGINEER/SHOP MANAGER/QUALITY CONTROL
SAMA Plastics/SAMA Wood (2009 - 2010)
I was known at this company as “The Man Who Wore Many Hats.” Although my head may be shaped perfectly to pull off this look, my mind and attitude are what helped me excel in this Point of Purchase display business. One of the biggest lessons learned from this position is, “Respect gains respect.” It never hurts to say
“please,” and “thank you,” to your shop employees!
- Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create detailed shop drawings of retail store fixtures.
- Occasionally traveled to NYC to survey an area for blueprints to be made.
- Created detailed Bills of Materials for our purchasing dept.
- Managed shop employees to make sure the correct operations were being executed to reach very strict timelines.
- Often visited the shop floor to check manufactured parts against the shop drawings I had created.
CNC LATHE SETUP AND OPERATOR
Generant (2008 - 2009)
Fresh out of college, this was my first real look into the manufacturing world. Albeit overwhelming at first, my eagerness to learn helped me gain a spot under the shop foreman’s wing, acquiring knowledge that I’m extremely grateful for, and still use to this very day.
- Performed initial setup of CNC lathes for complex valve tooling and manufacturing
- Produced quality pieces and made precise adjustments due to tool wear and metal stock inconsistencies.
- Worked very closely with the head setup machinist to hone my skills as a setup operator myself
- Teamed up with the main CAD engineer who would frequently test my knowledge by drawing up a part and having me use G Code to simulate a CNC operation.
