Electronic prior authorization (ePA) (July 2010 – Jan 2014)

Role: Business Analyst

CVS Caremark Corporation is an American drug retailing company with a U.S. pharmacy chain. CVS Caremark provides pharmacy services through its CVS Pharmacy stores; its pharmacy benefit management, mail order and specialty pharmacy division, Caremark Pharmacy Services; its retail-based health clinic subsidiary, MinuteClinic; and its online pharmacy, CVS.com.

The requirement was to analyze various business processes in the existing prior authorization model which was based on manul interpretation and desktop application and to gather requirements that were required for the migration of the desktop application into an automated electronic prior authorization. Was managing multiple projects and partnering with the development / technology teams to implement recommendations.

•Initiated walkthroughs and interviews with senior management (Stakeholders) and department managers (Subject Matter Experts) in prior authorization system to understand user requirements and expectations.

•Created high quality Business Requirement Documents along with screen mockups and conversion requirements to summarize client expectations to create an automated electronic prior authorization (ePA) .

•Created business process models to analyze current processes in the collections, repossessions and recoveries workgroups and created Use Cases, Activity Diagrams and Sequence diagrams in Visio.

Chubb PMO - Chubb Corporation is one of the largest property and casualty insurer in the United States which offers commercial, specialty, surety, and personal insurance services .This project was majorly involved in the migration of claim recovery system that was initially developed in the Gupta team developer technology into Vb.net system in order to cater the huge business flow.

•This Project involved in the migration of a Claim Recovery System that was basically developed in Gupta Team Developer to Vb.net.

•By Following the Best Practices and Guidelines specified by Chubb, Claims System was totally Re-Written in .NET

•Developed Validation module that validates the user to receive claim and processes its output in the required format to the assignment module.

•Was hugely involved in generating reports using Crystal Reports.

•Interacted with system architects and developers to finalize application functionality and navigation and update on functional requirements.

•Used Visio to create Use Case diagrams and Data Flow diagrams and wrote Use Cases narratives to show how the system works.

•Participated in meetings with Developers, Project Managers and Quality Analysts to discuss business requirements, test planning, test cases resource utilization, and defect tracking.
