SUMMARY:

Primary role has been that of an Database Architect/ORACLE Developer and a IT manager in charge of production system support, coaching the developers on the database application coding, managing the database application performance.

As IT veteran, Started from R&D and Education on MIS/DSS in university, stepped into the application development and final focusing on the database technology. Solid theory knowledge and experience on SDLC, Application framework and IT architect designing. With expert skill and knowledge on the ORACLE database performance tuning/troubleshooting in past 15 years. Currently, most working area is ORACLE Engineering system – Exadata and exploring the ORACLE Big data appliance.

Database experiences and Skills:

Installed, configured and upgraded varies ORACLE database from version 6 to 10g, 11g and 12C for companies.

Did the pathing, troubleshooting on the ORACLE database from version 6 to 12C. Successfully completed more than ten actual DR cases included physical storage, logical data, Instance and DB hanging recovery.

Doing ORACLE database performance tuning for ORACLE in windows, Unix/Linux.

Configured ORACLE RAC and implemented business applications on ORACLE RAC.

Configured ORACLE Exadata and migrated/upgraded from X2 to X5, solved the cell servers setup issues to make application got the most benefits from Exadata technology.

As Exadata administrator, managed the whole Exadata Box from database nodes to cell storage nodes.

Provided resolutions to fix the database performance issues in production system, worked with SA, to make the entire database systems run on the most optimized mode.

Improved database performance 5 times to 20 times faster by the SQL tuning and PL/SQL optimized.

Doing the PL/SQL coding and SQL coding for business transaction processes, Data warehouse and ETL.

Coded the shell scripts to fulfill automatic DBA tasks such as backup, space defragment and Codes deployment.

Installed, configured and setup ORACLE Enterprise Management from version 9i, 10g, 11g to 12C/13C.

Fully using ORACLE OEM to manage, monitor database in all the environments.

Used Solarwind and Quest to resolve database performance problems.

Managed MS SQL server includes database backup, log files cleanup and sync.

Handled the basic MySQL /DB2/Sybase management tasks for third party tools.

Leaded DBA team to manage the databases for production running, UAT/SIT testing, backup and DR setup.

GIC Universal Structure and un-structure Investment Data warehouse --- Database Specialist (VP)

Playing the database technology specialist role, working closely with application development teams on this project, U2ID is data warehouse system to consolidate and store whole investment operation/transaction data, RISK data and Global market data. It wildly accessed by front end system, data mark, Dashboard, Data analyst web applications and provide Investment decision support functions for portfolio managers.

U2ID database upgraded to 11.2.0.4/migrate to Exadata X2

U2ID database upgraded to 12.1.0.2/migrated to Exadata X5

ETL model rebuilt / re-coded and optimized by adopted full parallel processes and exadata smart scan.

Worked on Exadata and resolved the memory huge page, Storage index, 12C in memory usage in Exadata X5, Parallel query policy selection; High performance sorting on temp tablespace; HCC configuration etc. issues.

GIC IT/Database Infrastructure designing & DB management -- DBA manager (VP)

There are over 100 databases running in this company, As database infrastructure leader, proposed the new infrastructure to support business and application development needs; To make the company database technology in line with market and get most benefit from the technology progress. Support the market data/Risk data/Performance Data/GIC index database and Valuation system/Transaction system etc. Completed the corporate Infra2.0 designing – Includes Database framework, Server, Storage and Network platform and IT security platform designing. Built GIC database security standard.

RIMS database upgraded from 8i to 10g with weblogic and ORACLE OID.

Implemented GIST on GIC first RAC which setup on E25K cluster server;

GEMS upgraded to 10.2.0.4/11.2.0.4 and migrated to RAC on E25K, re-designed the GEMS DB framework to switch from physical instance to DB services; implemented RMAN back in physical standby database to reduce the impaction from backup

Designed and Implemented Pegasus database schema and snapshot corp database/application for performance computing requirement. Resolved the space fragment and data loading/processing conflict issues.

Upgraded and migrated EVE into 10.2.0.4/11.2.0.4 RAC, optimized the database to reduce daily job run time from 1.5 hours to 20 minutes.

Upgraded and Migrated the Ethsys database to 10.2.0.4 RAC and provided data replication solution to support the GIC daily operation.

Supported and implemented Calypso database setup and runs in GIC.

Supported and implemented BRS(BlockRock) system in GIC.
