Objective
Working on the front lines at the Ottawa International Airport, I am responsible for the safe passage of 4.7 million passengers a year. Working in such a busy environment, it is imperative to supply each and every passenger with excellent customer service, while being vigilant, observant and using the resources and training provided to prevent dangerous goods from entering the sterile area. I am looking forward to using my excellent time management skills, attention to detail, pragmatic nature and experience working in a challenging work place to use in a new position. I enjoy a fast paced environment that pushes me to be my best and I am always eager to learn and perfect new skills.

Responsible for protecting air travelers by screening them and their belongings.
Maintain the highest degree of vigilance and providing excellent customer service in a challenging environment.
Follow aviation regulations and standard operating procedures to the letter and report any incidents to numerous stakeholders in a quick and efficient manner while maintaining a professional and calm disposition.
College Pro Painters June 2008-September 2008
Working in a team of 2-5 people, we prepared, repaired, and painted houses at heights of up to 50 feet.
Using fall arrests and ladders up to 40 feet in height, while staying compliant with College Pro and WHIMIS workplace safely regulations.
We were required to lift up to 80lbs, and work in varying extreme weather conditions heat/storms, while ensuring we completed the job in a timely and professional manner.

My main duties as a skate expert were to effectively communicate the different fits and capabilities of the skate to elite athletes while ensuring the product was not just what the customer wanted, but that it was suitable for the skill level of the athlete.
Mastered, figure and hockey skate blade repair, instillation, and sharpening.
In 2008 I was invited to work as a sharpening expert at the 2008 CIS Women’s Ice Hockey Championship, which included players from the Women’s Olympic Team.
OPP Marine Patrol Assistant June 2002-September 2002
Working out of the Simcoe County detachment, a Constable and myself would patrol the shoreline of Georgian Bay using hand held speed radar.
Patrolled the bay and rivers for speeders in regulated areas as well as completing random safety checks, ensuring boaters were following all rules and regulations.
Responded to SOS alerts and assisted on recovery and searches of stolen property and missing persons.
Education
University Of Ottawa September 2005- June 2007
General Social Sciences, with classes in Psychology, Criminology, English, Sociology, Feminism, History, and Crime and Policy Making. While I did not complete my degree, I did enjoy my time at University. However, I realized that even though I found my classes interesting and challenging, the style of learning did not suit my needs. I work best in a hands on environment and need to be stimulated in a more direct way to reach my full potential.

Skills
I am proficient in Microsoft Word, and report writing. I have extensive training in the use of X-Ray systems including CTX and ATIX technologies and the safety certifications that are required to operate them. I have excellent communication skills and can easily adapt in difficult situations to ensure the best customer experience. I am a very fast learner and excel when give the opportunity to perfect a new skill. I have a through knowledge of the importance in communicating effectively with various stakeholders in critical situations and can navigate emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner.
