Professional Experience

Currently working as Senior Sector Specialist (Technical) at Disaster Management and Climate Change Programme, BRAC from 01 March 2016.

Main Duties:

Coordinate and analyze emergency situation; lead the damage and need assessment of community through data collection, data analysis and GIS mapping for all types of disasters.

Lead data collection, analysis and management of extreme weather, hazards and disasters for early warning and projection.

Humanitarian response related data collection, analysis, management and GIS mapping for reporting.

Applications of GIS and remote sensing in disaster and climate risk and vulnerability mapping with the focus on socio economic vulnerability.

Coordinate community based climate induced disaster risk assessment and humanitarian response with the modern technologies (IVR, GIS, Remote sensing, Mobile money base relief, E-voucher)

Coordinate BRAC’s project beneficiary and research data collection, analysis and management for report preparation.

Food security and nutrition data analysis during humanitarian crisis.

Lead project and research GIS data preparation, analysis and management of BRAC’s regular programme and projects.

Application of Remote sensing and GIS technology to predict the river bank erosion.

Project design, plan and lead the BRAC DMCC project team.

Manage, coordinate and implement the project in two study fields.

Flag hoisting in field according to the risk areas and risk mapping.

Disseminating the prediction result through public consultations, distributing leaflet and maps and marking the erosion vulnerable settlements in the selected plot sites.

Arrange awareness campaign and provide Risk map to the community through UDMC.

Worked as Research Assistant and GIS Analyst in National Atlas of Bangladesh Programme by Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, from 01 June 2013 to 30 November 2015.

Plan and Research on the national phenomenon on diversified topics (e.g.; demographic, physical agricultural, economic, climate, culture, education, urbanization, land use, land cover etc.) for GIS data preparation, management and mapping
