• Handles lawsuits and claims brought against the Company, most of which consist of personal injury and property damage matters.
• Handles lawsuits and claims brought on behalf of the Company against third parties. These matters involve damage to Company vehicles, overhead system poles and underground installations.
• Provides support to the Mass Tort Group defending asbestos and mass tort lawsuits.
• Handles noise and smoke, Fire Department, Building Department, Highway Department and Coast Guard violations against the Company.

Collections investigators are responsible to investigate incidents where damage to Company property has occurred as a result of the actions of others. For example, a vehicle struck one of our utility poles, a private vehicle collided with a Company vehicle, or a contractor damaged underground cables while excavating. The Collections investigator will investigate the incident, gather supporting billing records, and attempt to collect reimbursement for the damages.
Claims investigators are responsible to investigate claims filed against the Company as a result of alleged personal injury or property damage where a lawsuit has not yet been initiated. They may interact with the claimant and/or claimant’s representative. Their primary focus is to determine if the Company is exposed to potential liability, and if there is exposure, negotiate a fair and equitable settlement.

Handle record keeping for employee time reports and handle all corrections and exceptions.
