VI. Project Name: Entity Typing & Suspect Duplicate Processing

Environment: COBOL, DB2, JCL

Duration: Jun ‘2011 – Dec ’2011

Team: 3 Members

Domain: Corporate Non-Life Insurance

Description:

This project is to deal with Data Consolidation of Client data. We are dealing with Client information which includes name & address of clients, submission & policy information and also client to client relations. I identified that data gaps present in the system are due to multiple reasons, almost 15% of data is duplicated and client records existed with incorrect entity typing. I have performed 3 phase implementation for achieving complete client information data consolidation.

1. Streamlining Client Data Creation: In our hybrid environment there are several applications which use client data for quoting and Policy issuance. There are several systems which create client data apart from Enterprise Client management application. Some services create client data and insert these records in Enterprise Client management system. Due to this there are duplicate data created and also entity typing is not proper. I have identified different entry points and tagged these records which need to be sent for entity typing and suspect duplicate processing.

2. Entity Typing of Client Data: Presently there are clients whose data is not correctly bifurcated. I have created extract jobs with all the client information and sent it to Quality stage for further processing. After getting the input from quality stage on bifurcation I will apply the changes to data in the host, along with entity bifurcation I will also have to change the format of Name stored in database according to entity.

3. Suspect Duplicate Processing: Several applications within the system are creating client information data and as there was no mechanism to check the duplicates almost 15% of client information data has duplicates. As part of Suspect Duplicate Processing I have created extracts with client information like Name, Address, Submissions, Policies, Client relations, Policy Effective dates etc. This data is sent to Quality Stage and probabilistic and deterministic matches are applied to cleanse the data. Once done these changes are applied on host database to get rid of duplicates.

Role & Responsibilities:

1.Requirement analysis

2.Preparing Detail Designs

3.Coding & Code Review

4.Unit Testing & System Testing

5.UAT support

6.Certification (Performance) Test Support

7.Release Implementation
