Experience.

July 2016 – Sept 2017 worked in Kenmark Tech Solutions as Consultant (GM Sales & Service) looking after onboard ship Engine service by staff, reconditioning of parts, supply of spares and O & M of power plants in MRF pondy, Loyal Textiles,etc.

Jan 2014- June 2016 Worked in L & T Ship Building Limited, Chennai in ‘Ship Repair (Dry-docks) division as “Head of All support services” for production departments like Hull/Hull treatment / Mechanical/Piping and cooling water for AC & Ref., Fresh / Sea water supply, Ventilation blowers, Cranage, Gangway, CO2 System, LSA & FFA, High pressure pump, Crane following safety, Quality, environment, Audit, ERP, etc.

Preparation of Gangway, installation as required on docking and removal of same while undocking on completion of work.

Providing cooling water for ships AC / Reefer systems and supply of fresh water.

Providing shore reception facility for ships sewage, grey water, galley water, Garbage, etc.

Arranging Boom Lift/Cherry picker for Hull scraping, HP water wash, Blasting and UTG & Painting.

Arranging Class / Flag state Survey’s as required for owner to complete without delay.

LSA / FFA items include Life boat test, Life raft service, Fire extinguisher serce,CO2 system cylinders service(wighment, UTG, pr.test, refill,test).

Raising Work Done / Completion certificate and get signed by ship staff and attending Superintendents.

Audit observation completion include safety gear / equipments inspection getting certificate annually as valid for safe usage and operation of same.

Attending berthing / unberthing & shifting of ship at Karaikal Sanmar Port as per pilot instruction.

Bunkering, supply of provision / stores to ships,crew posting as per safe manning on rotation with medical,fresh water supply,etc

April 2007 - May 2012 worked in Srinivasan Associates Private Limited, as “Deputy General Manager“ “Mechanical/Electrical In charge –Manning, Operation, Maintenance include Hydraulic systems -looked after all Plant, Machinery, Equipments like Concrete pumps / Boom placer pumps, Tower Crane required at all Projects like Steel structure.

November 1989 - August 2006 worked in “Chennai Port Trust”, as Engineer Dredger / Executive Engineer (FC) / Marine Engineer / Superintending Engineer (Marine) maintain all Trust Floating crafts (Dredgers/Launches/Floating Crane/Tugs) in safe and smooth operation, Repair, Dry-dock, Survey and all workshops (Machine/Plating /Welding/Painting/Electrical/Carpentry, Planning, Budget,Tender/Quotation, Audit, Administration,Dock safety, Inspector of Factories, etc.

Onboard Dredger ( Crane type & THSD) maintaining water depth inside Harbour & approach channel to port by dredging and dumping out at sea opening hoppers.

Marine workshop – Repair / Maintenance of engines,shafts,turbocharger,etc

Drydock ( Slipway- main / mini with winches) of all floating crafts as per high tide–Hull scraping,blasting to SA 2.5,painting as per std,coats include main deck & superstructure,etc with Class survey completion.

Preparation of Quotaion / Tender for supply / repair,etc for floating crafts & workshop machinery / equipments, propeller balancing include tender of BOT basis for setting up of drydock by private.

Voith & Schttel Propulsion system of Tugs complete service (open,dismantle,service,assembling,testing) carried out satisfactorily.

Tender for new floating crane supply,evaluation of tender,recommendation,approval & placement of order with stagewise payment include IRS class.

Attended trail & inspection at china for new floating crane 15o tons named Thangam and took delivery & put in use running satisfactorily with follow up of Gaurantee,etc.

Looked after 2 nos. Floating drydock set up by M/S.Chokkani on lease follow uo of payment to port dues as per contract.

An ISO 9001:2008 QMS prepared,tested and got approval from IRQS as first in Chennai port as mandatory for MOT training of candidates ( Diploma / Degree).

June 1997 - May 2000 & one year on Deputation worked in Poompuhar Shipping Corporation Limited as Head (Deputy General Manager) for Tuticorin branch & Kanyakumari Ferry Service in charge –

Looked after both Marine workshop (FEL maintenance/ service, Tamil ship repair and Stevedore operation (Coal) in one berth using our own operator for ship cranes / FEL, etc. ) satisfactorily.

Survey (Class & Flag State), Repair of Tamil ships and coordination with TTPS / Port Trust, attending meetings, etc.

Involved in setting up of Tamilnadu Maritime Academy (Seamen Training) at Tuticorin. Coordinated for implementation & monitoring of ISM / ISPS code as DPA in Tamil ships as per Policy & Objectives of Company.

Worked at Chennai Port when there was All India Port Trust Strike time by our own crane operators in discharge of cargo.

From Sept 1984 – Oct 1989 After MOT Training at Mazagon Dock limited I Joined at HSL for taking over of New ship after trial, Survey, etc maiden voyage to Russia and worked lastly as Third Engineer Officer on board ship in SCI for four year at sea as watch keeping in Engine Room, Overhaul of engines ( Generators, Purifiers, etc),Repair, Survey ( Class-Quarterly Status-Annual / Intermediate /CSM / Renewal & Flag state inspection), Dry-dock ( 2 times in every 5 years period for underwater Hull inspection(UTG)/ Eco sounder, Sea suction / Overboard valves, Propellers/Shafting seal/ Rudder, etc) and implementing, maintaining complying SOLAS / MARPOL of IMO conventions, rules & regulations in force.
